Hello, everyone!
Well, it's that time of the week (well, late in the week) where I fill you in on what's being worked on and what you might be able to expect in the coming weeks. Or, at the very least, what's partially being worked on.
Now that I've assumed control of my channel from those pesky future aliens, I'm likely to do a few quick reviews. One will be about a cute, independent series that I saw mentioned in Discord a few weeks ago. Another will be a small compilation video about recent series that are, for the most part, about early Image nostalgia. I'm writing the script for both concurrently. Although, I expect the Image one will become a lot longer than a short video.
In the background I'm also re-reading Epic Illustrated with the idea of doing a Best Of Epic Illustrated type of video. That's a lot of reading, so it might not show up for a bit.
I'm also heavily considering doing a compilation video about Ditko. I think I've mentioned this before. The idea is to take some of the prior Ditko related videos, smoosh them together and add a bunch of material that might not withstand being videos on their own. The final product would be at least an hour long. Probably closer to an hour and a half. With a video that length I'm heavily considering making it mostly just audio, with very limited graphics. Because, quite honestly, I don't think I have the storage space to do a graphically intensive, hour long video. In its raw form, that's going to exceed the entire 1TB hard drive I have dedicated to video projects. At least, by my calculations.
Anyway, there are a lot of bits and pieces going into it. Like, a brief biography, a look at his overall career and how it evolved. There's two other, mostly speculative bits about Ditko's relationship with fandom and the press, possibly a reading of the ONLY actual interview I could find, and a bit about why Ditko started writing essays about his career starting in the early 2000s. So, it wouldn't simply be repackaging older Ditko material. It would be adding a lot more to it and giving it a sense of thematic continuity.
So, I've got a lot of work ahead of me. Time to get back to it!
As always, thank you so very much for your continued support! I feel like I never say that enough. Thank you.
