I Feel Fantastic

Hello everyone!

First of all, don't Google the title of this post or search for it on YouTube. Believe me, your life is better not knowing. I might even make it the title of the next video and insert into the thumbnail above. Heh.

Secondly, my sincere apologies (once again) for a lack of updates forthcoming concerning projects. The last few weeks I've been trying to get as much work done as possible and that hasn't left me with any free time. But I'm usually around on Discord, so you can get hold of me there, if necessary.

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, there is a Fantastic Four theme in the last few videos. And the two posted so far seem to be doing unusually well. Better than expected, to be honest. This FF trend is going to continue for at least one more. I'm really, really hoping to have it done before the end of this week.

That video (which is fully recorded) will be about the most ridiculous FF villain ever. I'll keep you in suspense and guessing who it might be. After that I might elaborate on something I touched upon in my Origin Story and take an issue by issue look at the FF story that really pulled me in and tickled my developing brain parts. That would cover issues 190-200. The final FF video would be a complete, page one rewrite and elaboration on the early video: Who Created The Fantastic Four? That's a much longer project, so I wouldn't expect it for a while. But it's on my mind and the script is at least halfway done.

In the back of my mind, I might delve into Frank Miller's Daredevil run. Specifically focusing on Elektra. But maybe a look at it in general. Or the Born Again arc specifically, with a bit of a contrast between that and the graphic novel, Love And War. I'm not sure which I might tackle first.

Anyway, that's everything that may be forthcoming in the near future.

Unrelated question: would you ever consider doing a video on Alan Moore’s Novella ‘What We Can Know About Thunderman’? It’s just filled to the brim with reflections and perspectives on the history of comics, and I am curious what someone who probably gets most of the references would think about it.

As a kid, I experienced Frank Miller on Daredevil in real time. First as artist (but probably Marvel method) then as writer/artist. It was quite a dramatic change. I would love to see you talk about the title briefly before his run to show what a change it was.

I never even knew Guard even existed. Big thanks for the Impossible Man bit at the end.

Christopher Ulichney

Hm. Interesting. I hadn't thought of that angle. I hope you post it on Discord when it's up on the forum.

Here's a 2020 article on the "I Feel Fantastic" viral video. Spoiler: No, the creator was not a serial killer. https://yitzilitt.medium.com/the-story-behind-i-feel-fantastic-tara-the-singing-android-and-john-bergeron-fc83de9e8f36

That just shows a blind spot that I have...Manga. Completely forgot about that version.

Some of the early the Marvel comics I read was John Byrnes run on Fantastic Four. So I am enjoying you look into the FF. I was suprised you did not cover the Marvel Mangaverse version of the FF in your video about strange version of the Fantastic Four. It was basically the FF mixed with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Looking forward to the next video.

Super Vader

I will say it's not Impy. Depending on the length of this next video (meaning: it's under 8 minutes) I might insert a little bit about him, though.

Allan Hatt

The FF'S most ridiculous villain? Impossible Man seems too obvious. I wonder who it could be.

Christopher Ulichney

It's okay. You'll upload videos when you upload videos.

Oh the Elektra stuff sound interesting, loved the video on Elektra Assassin. Funnily enough I'm literally just finishing off writing a piece for some nonsense I do over on the 2000ad Forum about the relationship between Elektra and Sand Serif from Eisner's The Spirit and how for me - in this instance - Will Eisner nails the story better. I'm intrigued to see if you touch on this and what your thoughts about DD 168 and the two repurposed Jonny Law stories in The Spirit are.
