It's Q&A Time!
Added 2024-02-29 00:16:24 +0000 UTCIt's been far too long since I did a proper Q&A! Now it's that time again.
For those that would like to contribute to a Question & Answer video please post your questions to this thread!
A few guidelines, if you will:
1. Pretty much everything is fair game. Of course, I'm probably going to give misleading answers to overly personal questions. You know, like my address or phone number. Otherwise, ask what you like.
2. The answer to the question, "Will you ever do a video about [insert series]?" is almost always, "Yes." Everything is a possible topic for a future video.
3. There's a video about what got me into comics. So, don't ask about that.
4. Maybe limit yourself to a few questions. Otherwise, I might have choose a few to answer if you ask, like, 5 or 6. That would be great.
And...that's it! Shoot away.

Alright...I'm officially closing off this thread and I'll answer these all pretty soon. Thanks everyone!

2024-03-07 00:27:51 +0000 UTC"Shatter" is famous for being a comic that was drawn using computer technology. As an AI, do you know of any comics being written and possibly drawn by AI using human prompts?

2024-03-02 22:40:04 +0000 UTCIn your video on "Through the Habitrails", you mention that upon showing the book to a friend that he was convinced you were its creator. Do you draw or have training as an artist or illustrator? If so, is there any of your work we might find? (Also, the short film/intro you made of the beginning of "Habitrails" was really cool.)

2024-03-02 08:02:48 +0000 UTCAnd for that matter, Kirby's reputation as the "King" is certainly well-deserved, but he made some creations that really made us go "WTF", ranging from The Black Racer to Paranex the Fighting Fetus. How about naming a couple or a few Kirby creations that never should have seen the light of day, if you can think of any?

2024-02-29 23:16:53 +0000 UTCA whole lot has been said about Jack Kirby's Fourth World, including the way it was taken from him; his half-hearted attempt to finish the story ("The Hunger Dogs"); and the many attempts to restart or continue the Fourth World saga, of which there seem to have been at least a dozen. Which of the many various, confusing and convoluted Fourth World stories by other wirters and artists besides Kirby, did you actually enjoy reading and felt they were decent comic book stories? I'm not interested in how "canon" they were or whether they ruined Kirby's "vision", I'm just asking which of these were decent stories to read.

2024-02-29 23:12:47 +0000 UTC1. Do you feel the rise of manga over western comics is indicative (at least partially) of the MCUs effect on public perception of comics as bland and never ending slogs to a status quo? 2. The local chapter of the Secret Comics Cabal is selling Illuminati Cookies to keep cabal members from joining gangs. How many cookies would you like to buy?

2024-02-29 15:37:52 +0000 UTC1. Are there any older (classic?) creators who have had the spotlight move off them that you'd like to see work from today? 2. Do you have some series or even creator runs on titles that you wish had continued on for longer than they did? Unrealised potential or just cut short too quickly, that sort of thing.

2024-02-29 12:51:52 +0000 UTCI've been hearing that the comic book industry is dying, or in serious decline for over two years. I know that there are many reasons why people are saying those things. Like how there are too many "woke" comic titles (There is a huge difference between balancing proper representation with a complex story and character development and shoehorning a Mary, or Gary Sue with straw man characters to fight just to make a specific demographic happy.) Or that fact that there are dozens of YouTube channels with videos that will just tell you what happens in comic books. (I'm not counting yours because you mostly talk about obscure comic books that aren't just a part of Marvel or DC, and that have been completed for decades. And whenever you do talk about more recently comic you try not to give too much away, unless it total trash.) There's probably more factors at play, like the business side of comic book publisher. These are the main two that I've been hearing about. But what do you think?

2024-02-29 04:32:00 +0000 UTC1: What's your take on the artistic merit of photo comics? Have you ever seen any that speak to the style's potential rather than the publisher's desire to get a comic out without using artists? Do you think there's reasonable potential for a great work in the style to break into the mainstream, or is the look and feel too different from industry standard for even the best possible photo comic to remain a niche at best? 2: As resident Homestuck, I must ask: Is there any possibility of SBP covering select influential webcomics, or is the divergence from your own taste/healthy YouTube analytic behavior too great?

2024-02-29 00:28:51 +0000 UTCHave you ever had the experience of sitting down to work on a video about a topic you knew well, and had a real change in how you felt about it through the act of writing and recording your video? I'd be absolutely curious to know if the analysis you engage in has ever led you to falling in love with something you used to be relatively ambivalent about, or grow to dislike something you used to be cool with.

2024-02-29 00:22:02 +0000 UTC1. If you could write for any character or group of characters what would you pick and what would you do with them. 2. Are there any characters you think deserve to be more popular/ mainstream. 3. If you could colab with any other comic book YouTubers who would you pick, I’d personally love to see you work with someone like godzillamendoza or comic tropes.
