With all of his careful planning and scheming, even Doffy can fall. No plan is fool proof and adding the Stawhats into the mix, essentially adding chaos into the mix, was eventually going to disrupt his plans. Even though Doffy recognizes how others underestimated them, he is still human and of course would think he’s untouchable just like any other villain we’ve seen. Each villain approaches things differently but this aspect of them, their egos, will always be the same.

2026-01-25 02:25:55 +0000 UTCOne of the best episodes in One Piece history. The turning point of everything. Complete utter chaos. The Hobby-Hobby fruit is utterly devastatingly broken. Even if you consider it from Doffy's point of view as well. Sure you've turned these strong people into toys but you can't remember who they are, how strong they were. How can you plan to combat a strength you don't even know and can't remember? Not only that but the toys victims seem to have been frozen in the age they were when they were originally turned into toys. 10 whole years. There could be children who are now almost the same age as their parent, lovers who've moved on and have a completely new family, Grandparents or spouses who could have died in that time and they weren't able to grieve or mourn for them. By many accounts, death probably would have been a better alternate to living in this torture. Cold chills.
