hordy's backstory is truly so haunting :(

The revive revive fruit is said to activate upon dying the first time. After that, we'd have to assume that the user can die. Mainly because Brooke is only like 90 something and there have been devil fruits for at least hundreds of years. This means that there was likely a user before him.

Hordy is a great villain. A majority of the fan base hates him and writes him off because he is weak and doesn't give Luffy a challenging fight, which is true, Luffy barely brakes a sweat during the whole arc. But Hordy is also one of the only villains that Luffy can't talk sense into, change their minds or make them respect his power. Almost every other villain will at least come to acknowledge Luffy as an equal in fighting capability. But not Hordy. He takes more and more drugs to overcome the obstacles, not once backing down. He doesn't fear Luffy and never claims Luffy to be strong or stronger than him, because doing so would be seen as weak and shows fishmen to be inferior to humans. Which is completely against his belief. His will, pride and belief are unmatched by any other antagonist in the series. He's honestly one of the most terrifying because of that. If he had more raw power, I reckon he would have been a massive hurdle for the crew tbh. We're kinda lucky that he was as weak as he was.

Red Hawk is one of my favorite moves from Luffy for obvious reasons 🔥😁. In regards to Brook’s DF abilities, I always understood it as being able to come back to life once and only once. At least that’s what it was originally intended to do. However, in Brook’s case, his soul wasn’t able to come back right away and had to latch on to what was left behind… his bones. So technically, unless his bones get totally destroyed, he can come back as many times as he wants. Eventually his bones will get brittle and turn to dust so immortality may be off the table but an extended long life is certainly possible.

Right-Hand Man

Been a while since I rewatched Fish Man Island but man, Odas commentary on how radicalisation doesnt happen overnight and is a slow process that creeps its way into society is so spot on. Especially with some of the events out world is going through today. I agree that it is interesting how the Straw Hats arent exactly fighting a crazy powerful villain but more of an ideology and show what is needed to get through to a population who have been exposed to hateful rhetoric for most of their life and slowly make them change their minds. Love these reactions, it really shines through that you are enjoying this arc which is really nice since its usually not peoples favorite arc

Downbeat

not One Piece related, but that Care Bear sweater is super cool!
