I think this is one of Oda's masterpiece arcs. Not only in itself, but it does SO much to expand the world in every direction, especially the dark and gritty. It is such a good fucking arc, holy moly.

2025-02-28 12:25:53 +0000 UTCSabaody Archipelago is so deceptively beautiful. It's super pretty to look at, tons of fun attractions, and the environments are all nice. But then it's also an island where there's lawless areas, kidnapping rings, and slave trades that operate openly. This arc is definitely where Oda begins to peel back the mask a bit and show just how ugly this world really is. It's disturbing and thrilling and fascinating all at once.

I watched all of your one piece reactions from the beginning to current during my hospital visit. Your obsession with Zoro and Franky gave me lots of smiles during a time when I was in lots of pain. Now I'm following you on here and I'm excited to see the rest of your OP journey. This is the perfect arc for me to catch up because the next 100 episodes or so are some of my favorites in the series. I'm glad you said you enjoy the more serious tones of this arc, I hope you keep that same attitude going forward ;)
