Oda chose to include the 11 Supernovas (inc law, kid, bonney) almost on a whim after just wanting to make tons of pirate crews, and then last minute decided to add them to the Sabody Arc. Arguably one of the best choices made in the entire series.

This is a bit of my own headcanon, but since Usopp's real dad was absent his whole life I like to believe Franky kinda fulfils that role for him in the meantime. But enough about that, you've finally reached Law...and like 8 other pretty cool pirates. But more importantly, LAW!!! Say hello to your new obsession Katy. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say this one character ushered in a huge wave of new people to get into One Piece. Can't wait until you get to see more of him :)
