Concept - Mask Bracer and ID Cards
Added 2019-09-16 23:39:52 +0000 UTCThe Mask Bracer is the device Sora uses to transform into his/her armored form. Originally the bracer was a lot simpler, and circular mask-like trinkets would be inserted into the slots in order to transform (see second image). Multiple masks were originally going to combine into different forms, but in general it felt unnecessary and didn't feel like it fit the overall themes of the story and was scrapped.
The 2.0 version of the gauntlet is more mask like in appearance, and armor is summoned by inserting special ID cards into a slot on the side. I also had an idea that a hard light shield could be projected from the animal emblem in the middle of the bracer, and that the front part could function as a close-ranged melee weapon too. The design for the bracer itself is pretty much finalized at this point, but I'm still deciding on how the ID cards will look. Currently I'm leaning towards designs C, D, and I.
I'm also in the process of designing Sora's armor as well. As you can probably guess from the frog faces all over the place, Sora's suit will be primarily frog themed.

2019-09-17 09:29:00 +0000 UTCThere are actually a few reasons behind the frog theme! 1. Frogs fit very well into the themes of the story, and main character's journey from a symbolic stand point. 2. It is kind of a parallel. I wanted to base the armor off something that could let me pay homage to the whole kicking thing without using the grasshopper thing Kamen Rider usually goes for. But most importantly of all 3. My girlfriend really likes frogs (lol)
