It might be interesting to discuss the impacts of previous "new" technology, while we're in the midst of a technology (AI) based shift. What were the fears, expectations and actual impacts. Does the introduction of AI differ? If so, how. How did access to Computers, Smart Phones, Ebooks, etc. change societies. I remember when eBooks were introduced, there was this fear that paper books would disappear or cease to exist. These days, I find that I will purchase both the paper and digital versions (ebooks and audio) of a book. This is even more likely if it is a book that I use as reference, like for textile techniques and computer programming methods. I find some formats more easily searched, or portable, while other formats don't require power, or power dependent devices for me to access them. I have a use for all of these.
