Thank you for a great episode. My take on what I heard is. That the Cons to having an EV (at least at this time) is: you need a 220 socket available to have decent charging (I.e. so that you have the flexibility to go for a longer trip without having to not use it for a day while it is charging), you need to plan any longer trips around where the charging station (which means that it might take longer for longer trips), definitely not ready for hailing any trailers. Pros: Lower maintenance, Lower “fuel” cost, Better acceleration.

2021-04-19 12:04:17 +0000 UTCEnjoyed the conversation but listening from Australia (where I have a lease on a Nissan Leaf) there was a problem that wasn’t considered by the panel.... turnover availability of charge points at charging stations. Unlike a gas pump that can service maybe 12 cars per hour, an EV charge point will probably only service 1-2 cars per hour. Multiply that out... the equivalent of a 6 pump gas station needs at least 36 charge points.
