ShotBy Natho

I didn't find this interesting. So many of the videos are already compilations of drunk people and the variety in those, even though they mostly say the same stuff, is more entertaining and informative.

C

drunkest "person" at the bar too, please? I love the idea

arelibobeli

Please more.

Not My Real Name

Wonderful

Luciano

I hate listening to drunk people. This was no different lol

Magic Plants

Pure Art

Amazing

yes please more of this

Socratrees

So happy I got the patreon so I can finally see shit like this

Chuck E Cheese

the end shot is fucking iconic - this is a good idea, but i can see it being hard to sustain authentically, this guy is imminently interviewable (for better or for worse) compared to most 'drunkest guys at the bar'

sean fahey

I mean he is the drunkest guy at the bar

COFFIN

Yes please make more

Incredible

We need more

Hardy Churchill

Sid Mullendore

This dude is probably a 40yo millennial. Or late Gen X.

JG

No way 🤣

Planbstrik9

Singling out the drunkest guy will be part of the fun and I hope y'all include that search. Also I hope its not always just the one drunkest guy but also the drunkest girl. Peace.

Bryan Naylor

this got me really questioning my intelligence

Joe

You're not... Wise

Sheldon Senger

Great idea!! :)

Amazing

Travis Dillon

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

SO good

Channel 5 (Theme Song or Poem) Not afraid to dive, head first, He can take our worst Seeing how we’re living hearing so many opinions Giving voices to voices Their sharing their choices Learning there’s a lot of fuss an open mind,a must Hearing what’s going down , what they’re thinking in town Bringing us together In any weather Finding out more, diving in at the core In the belly of the beast, not afraid at the least Andrew Callaghan He’s our man! He’s the guy at channel 5, the guy at channel 5

Tim MacGyver

The closing sequence...muah. Perfect. Big grin spread across my face watching Drunk guy vibe with his new bf. I can def see these interviews going the opposite way sometimes - but the good vibe drunk guy is tiiigggght.

Go for it

jojo

Duncan Trussell??

Not gonna lie the last bit where the dude said he wanted to see you again was wholesome af

David Storey

I think it’s called The Joe Rogan Experience or something

where's this guys podcast

Kym

Feel like he's giving pretty good advice. I like the cheese analogy

I like this, I say run a few more and we will see how it turns out.

Tory McArthur

I dig it. I hope you explore this format further to see if it sticks.

Hahaha I liked this a lot

It felt a bit too long, got bored a few times and lost my attention. Some funny parts but he just kinda drags on.

Joe

This concept is awesome. But this guy is kinda boring lol

Ron Jones

Funny and such an accurate stereotype, but honestly just a little annoying to listen to.

I would love to see a “most coked out person at the party” series lmaooo tbh this was great

Lauren Elise

everything he said makes perfect sense

can hear his cotton mouth

i loved this

this guy was awesome

Don’t do this. It’s like being sober on St Patrick’s day, annoying.

im poppin on reddit tho fr fr

Bernard Sandals

Evan, this shit absolutely slaps. I want 5 seasons, 24 episodes each

Mark Macharia

loved it!

memohgogo

Don't let people's weird feelings about trying a different creative direction stop you guys from growing your show's identity. This was a really unique and entertaining change of format, as long as you are expanding on your core concept while remaining true to the philosophy and identity of the show, in time people will come back and appreciate this stuff more than they will now as the channel 5 universe grows.

Yeah that's gonna be a no from me dawg

Reed Screedler

That guy is a genius

Jonah Marshall

I like it. Need a few more episodes to know whether the series works or not, can't base it off of just this guy.

Trevor Slocum

meh...

woody

He spoke some truth about long-term passive investing. No cap. (comment around 2:50 mark)

Would have been cool to see the interview in the bar.

Martin

funny but also hard to sit thru LOL

Courtney

That’s not just drunk, that mans done an 1/8 of coke to the dome for sure lolol

Juanpablo

eat poop this gold

I love it

In Talking to Strangers, Malcolm Gladwell talks about being Blackout Drunk: one trick to check if your friend is blackout drunk, ask them the same repeated question a few times every few minutes ("did you say you grew up in Ohio", "were you from Ohio?"). A regular person will obviously be able to tell you already asked that, but people blackout drunk have their hippocampus shut down and aren't making short-term memories, so they'll answer like it's the first time every time.

i agree, any more than snippits of a drunk person talking turns from funny to gross real quick, wish we could have heard more about his switch from mormon to non-mormon tho.....

topher

I don't really like this. First, it's lacking Andrew. I subscribed just because of Andrew. Second, the interviewer doesn't speak, so we're just watching a drunk guy pontificate. I appreciate it when we get the back and forth between Andrew and the interviewee, that's what made me like his video's in the first place.

good to be back my dude, onwards and upwards as they say !!!!!!! congrats Andrew and CRew on ur new adventures!!!!!!

This is awesome, my mind automatically registered this as a short visual podcast so I enjoyed it even more. This def has its own sauce! I can’t wait to see how this grows! -v

boring

Could’ve been edited down a bit, but “you gotta be smart to know I’m smart” is instantly iconic

Katherine

Didn't enjoy this

WE BACK BABY

I'd really like to see the drunkest but most coherent drunk out there. Can you make a few episodes super cheap somehow to see if it works?

Joshua

Side note- very much looking forward to your Huntington coverage from today - Fcuk the kkk

Red Queen

I like it, the guy is fun and I love the robes. Everything else is kinda weak, for 1 Andrew's not there so I as an audience don't have an avatar to relate to. There's also no real progression to the scene, the environment is dull & the angles seem unmotivated. I like some of these comments that suggest bringing em back when they're sober or interviewing multiple drunks until THE drunkest guy is discovered

Brian Sheehan

I love love love this

you gotta revisit this guy every once in a while, i want updates on this man's life

this a great segment lol

cam

yeah i thought that at first, but surely there's an easy work around for that. Simple as just getting their number and asking for permission a couple of days later when they're sober maybe?

also wheres the party ?

Fuck yes more of this slurry super man

hell yeah

omg

Jes C.

I’m most worried about the consent for publication aspect, someone drunk may say some stupid shit and now it’s public without them fully understanding.

Nixon Pfeiffer

Solid, this is a good start, I'd like to see what you guys do with this.

its a meh for me

jon smith

strong wholesome drunk vibes there second half. awesome stuff

Ryan

exactly. its flexible and transmutable. and I think the drunkest guy will probably always want to share his crackpot theories like this just like the reason why the interview style works well for channel 5 as it always has, just listening. even if its a bit of a showcase of the stupid lol

Ryan

lol context, no context, both great. like the idea dude

Ryan

I like it. More please.

If you keep expanding your content and You need a female news anchor that has acting, improv, comedy, patreon and social media experience and loves vanlife and travel hit me up! I’m also a magician but I just love meeting funny new people. You can not write this stuff. It’s too real and funny. Haha I am a Huge fan for years! Told all my friends to follow your patreon! Www.magicalkatrina.com

katrina

Yo how do I get access to the discord

Nathan Hoover

I thought this was funny, but agree with George Coote above. If this segment were to continue, I believe a more interesting approach would be to have a shorter interview when they're drunk and agree to meet them again when sober to try to retell the points they made while drunk. We can still laugh at the drunk person, but have the reassurance that the person was sober when they consented the posting of this video. It would allow the person to be held accountable for any dangerous or inappropriate things they say while drunk and reduce the risk of the idolization of silly drunk people and copycat offenders (who may or may not harm themselves in the process by drinking too much).

You are tiresome

Doug MacDonald

There's no doubt that stuff like this is funny, but I guess the question is how you guys feel about doing it? Really drunk people make bad decisions, like letting people film them doing interviews. The quality of their decision making is massively compromised. By filming and publishing interviews of them, are you allowing them to harm and humiliate themselves, where out of solidarity you could perhaps instead be putting them in a cab home? You wouldn't let them get behind the wheel of a car (because they could hurt themselves or obv others), why put them in front of a camera? If you are looking to actually REVEAL something about cycles of addiction and poverty, or a particular subculture, then there is a real public interest and service in producing this kind of content. If it's just looking to exploit someone's loss of control for laughs, then maybe it's harder to justify. I feel like over the years you guys have struck a really good balance between entertainment and observational journalism. If you're just picking out any old crackpot in a bar, I guess I'd ask 'what's the observation?' Or is it just entertainment? I'm not looking to offer any real judgment or opinion here, just playing devil's advocate and asking the sorts of questions I ask myself when I'm working in situations with people who are impaired for whatever reason. You guys have interviewed people who are drunk/on drugs/clearly addicts plenty of times before, and I feel like it's generally been from a place of empathy/love.

Not into it rlly, I like the folks that are the craziest people in general. alcohol is annoying crazy

Wisdom for the ages

Mike Midden

Dude is so gacked out, lol. Cotton mouth bad!

Blowvorine

Being there for a friend when they're way too drunk and finding some things they say funny is cool. Recording it and making them a joke isn't. Get people saying things they want to say, not what they don't know they're saying.

James Cook

Agree w this—really funny concept and title hooked me but focusing on one person who can’t really consent felt a bit predatory. Someone above had a great idea of moving from drunk to drunkest at the end that could maybe resolve that so it’s not as singled out. I think that’s what works so well with the regular videos is the collective randomness of it all. Love the idea of multiple series too!

I enjoy it! Maybe don't showcase just one guy though maybe intersplice one or two others. Also what are you guys wearing?

Catherine

Maybe it should be slow? Let it be the chiller segment in contrast to the usual segments.

Made me laugh, it’s alright

You're on to something here! The pace is too slow though. But it's a prototype episode! So hey, with more refining touches this segment has potential. Thank you so much for asking us what we think.

Natalia DNA

reminds me of Drunk History but with a random dude lemao

Alec A

Well done!

This is me when I'm drunk

Anesha Davis

This video worked okay, but I think with a video like this you need to be really mindful. Drunkest guy at a bar is rarely the happiest and throwing it out there like it's entertainment can probably result in bad effects at the end of the day, especially since the consent to appear on camera in these videos comes when they're incredibly easy to influence. Idk, I think it could be interesting but you need to know when to cut the cameras and that might get in the way of making it a consistent series.

Danny Buchanan

Literally all the current videos include drunk people.. so what's your point? :p

I've been stuck talking to that guy way too many times in my life

In my opinion the video is too slow paced and borders on the feeling of making fun of the subject which isn't nice. It's the opposite of being one of many in a fast paced video and its not a great format in my opinion because it singles out someone weak and vulnerable.

Linus

Is this Duncan Trussel's long lost brother

Don't forget to hydrate!!! Water is your brain's bff

me and my girlfriend watched this video together and we thought it was really good and funny. Hi Andrew! if you're reading this i am on acid and very confused! cheers!

i appreciate you asking us for our opinions. in my honest opinion, i’m not the biggest fan. thanks for listening 🖤

Anyone trying to “critique” is fucking lame as hell. Shit is perfect

Biggie

SO FIRE !!!! BRUH stop playing U BETTER MAKE THIS A SERIES #BANGER

Biggie

This was great. Evan, I love how your silence makes this feel like one long, topic-jumping, drunken rant. I'm doing mental gymnastics trying to connect the dots between this dude's spurts of plastered consciousness.

BenjaminReed

livin on the edge

man

throwback

Jared Schomberg

"Here's a prototype video. Let me know what you think"

Jared Schomberg

This idea is straight gold. lol love it. Maybe even grab a couple drunk people and have them compete in challenges ? Either way I'm all about this idea.

Sweet pilot! Let’s not forget about the drunkest ladies and gender non-conforming individuals at the bar 😄

Why's everyone critiquing the video? Ya'll do ya'll you got my money even if it's stinky and this ain't the bad kind of stinky. Much love

why y’all in robes?? what prompted y’all to be behind the bar and not in front of the bar? Who is this man? Evan is that you? I have so many questions! :’)

In the words of Rick James “Cocaine is a hell of a drug”

Feel like I know this guy.

This is pretty damn good imo

Quincy

This felt like a fever dream

Chad Farrell

This is fuckin sick

What I appreciate most is that you guys are releasing a ton of content. Your fans are here to stay. I didn't personally enjoy this video, I wasn't able to focus throughout it. I have experienced a 'drunkest guy at the bar' many times and don't usually enjoy them unless I am equally as drunk. That being said, I am really interested in Channel 5 having multiple series running. Just not interested in this one.

Love the idea and would be curious to hear more context on these people. Like what are the events in a person's life that lead them to being so drunk at this specific bar on this date. This guy was really wise.

Also, where are the interview questions? If you style it as an interview, I want to here from the interviewer, not just the interviewee.

~~GG~~

I like the concept, but would have enjoyed more of a lead into this. Like, show me the bar and how you selected the guy. Also this guy is not interesting. I know this might not be your style, but honestly like, a voice over of you could add a more interesting element when you have someone this dull. I dunno, like you reflecting back on it so we get dual tracks. This bozo is just...a boring bozo.

~~GG~~

Hahaha this is great 😂😂 good stuff! Let’s hope ya don’t run into a guy who gets violent when they drink hahah.

Perfect series idea. Travels well. Not place on the planet without the drunkest guy at the bar.

great concept, needs better execution

I think he is making way too much sense to be funny. Is it on purpose that he's not a complete wacko? Maybe a new direction? It's entertaining but, doesn't really fit the chocking hilarious content that you guys normally put out. Just my opinion ofc. Keep up the good work though!

This has potential but it goes on too long...

Dr. Cool

Fire

Love the idea 😂

condensed version in like a compilation of vids like these would be prime

I fully thought this was a skit. So perfect and I wanna see this keep on going 👌

Mehh

Viktor Drobyshevskiy

I'm glad i get to experiance this without having to listen to itfor 45 minutes, but for 5 and i can click out when i want to

This is the conversation I run away from when I’m at the bar

Mark Whelan

ask him what he thinks about Ayn Rand next time

Benjamin Glover

the soft jazz back track was such a good touch

sdboOger

Was funny but might be more entertaining if you ask more leading questions

I think it'll work if it was a bit more concise, it drags a bit. It definitely captures the feel of talking to a really drunk rando at a bar though, so it's got potential.

Great concept lol

NATHAN BARCHALK

It’s great!

This is a great lil pilot! Good job Evan!

Varian Edward Garza Reyes

Not a fan. It drags

Opportunity fuckin' moves.

Kelly Hamilton

@evan only if you wear that outfit every time

Loved it. Something to try might be intersplicing with a couple of other drunkest guys at the bar because some of his great quotable got lost in rambling but if it was in with a bunch of other people chatting dumb shit it might have more focus in a weird way

I did this a lot. I guess you just gotta be careful on who’s willing to talk and not fuck shit up! Lol

I dig it and think it could be a funny series. You could try to cut it a tiny bit faster and see if the comedy goes up. I like how you just ask him the 1 question and he starts rambling, but take out the few spots where you interject with a “oh yeah?” or a “uh-huh”. For me, it took me out of the moment and it would be funnier if it were just him rambling. Obvs, keep the bro out moment at the end though.

I'm here for this kind of shit. Glad you guys now have the freedom to try different stuff.

George Gabb

I liked it

I like the fit but hearing pseudo woke people critique other people’s choices is just tiresome. I know that’s a lot of the people you guys interview but this guy just seemed like a drag

Have you considered having a drunk person interview an even more drunk person?

Josh Woods

Man..the shit you guys are doing...it’s like a the biggest interrogation of the insanity of American masculinity since Hemingway went to sea and fucked that big old fish

Tom

Sounds like every word he said tripped out of his mouth.

Jason Gardinier

Yea...this is a good bit

SunroomTomato

Love your guy’s stuff because it brings out the characters of a larger scene, and passively tells a story thru the individuals. Personally, this feels like punching down without a clear point. Maybe would feel less so if it were part of a compilation.

It’s really good but I don’t think the title fits with what you’re trying to do because there’s no bar atmosphere or environment and it’s just a single drunk guy talking out on the street. So calling it drunkest guy at a bar kinda makes you expect one thing when you’re presenting something else. Maybe something like “Last Call with Evan” or “After Hours with Evan”

Somebody give this man some water you could hear how dry his mouth was

Michaela

I teared up at that ending, real bro love

Nic

Nah man, just be free

Good shit.

Kittentoots

I love the format of this one, the brief intermissions with “drunkest guy at the bar” flashing on screen were great, I thought it was going to cut to a commercial break lol also the robes were a subtle but hilariously absurd touch

YouTube Account

Quality 👍🏼

What's with the robes? lol

Genius idea. Looking forward to more!

Facts

Channel 5

I'm early!

I would watch so many of these lmao

Spencer Schillinger

I got patreon just for you guys and damn it's so worth it lol

AGM-Prism✦

So fuckin funny

AGM-Prism✦

Very interesting. And I like how the different types of show may have different host. Giving it the feeling of a real news segment almost, but still the same fun as the original show.

i like it

"you have to be smart to know I'm smart" bruh 😂

*smartest guy at the bar

Riley

Yeah that’s precisely what he wants you to think

George

How do I get a job with y'all

Riskylew

I think this could be really good if you got other clips of other drunk people, then narrowed it down to “the drunkest” at the end.

this dude sounds like a total dumbass but yeah, this would probably make a good series

Yea I think this works, maybe more interviews with other to get that “drunkest person at the bar” rather than the one guy talking like a Reddit conspiracy comment section

Dude looks like Chris D'elia and Brian Posehn did a fusion dance

Charles C Kilbourne

Good shit

👎 - Gotta be honest: this guy was pretty boring. There are way more entertaining drunks you could capture on video.

Joe King

Fuck yeah
