DTNS is starting an academy. Sarah doesn't want steaks in her classroom. Sarah and Roger discuss Herb Zettl, a college media instructor that they took together. Camera and filming talk takes over. Sarah gives us the basis of all advertising. Tom pulls out all three. It always needs to be odd. Everything Tom does is work.

Once again what might be viewed as a privacy issue for some can be a real practical issue for those with disabilities. The facial recognition AR capable glasses might seem like a cute "what if" or a scary privacy issue to some. But as a legally blind assistive technology instructor I can imagine several uses for such a device. Recognizing students or workmates when they walk in my office or classroom. Or a friend who coming by to give me a ride in front of my busy apartment building. Orcam has integrated a feature like this into their AR, if you will, glasses a long time ago, minus the cloud sourcing of the images. In other words you have to program everyone's face into the sysem, an assign them a name. Looks like they're even making a lapel style device that does that as well. Honestly, I'm not as interested in this as more generic or programable object/people recognition. Like a smart door cam that can recognize when my paratransit bus has arrived to take me to work or when there's a UPS man or turck at my front door. Anywho, thought I'd share. By the way Microsoft's Seeing AI App has a similar functionality built in plus LiDAR to tell you how far away the person is. May seem once again trivial info, but if you can's see well or at all that kind of info can be important when your trying to figure out if someone has moved in the grocery line or if you maintaining a six foot distance during COVID times. Thanks for the great show an rock on! https://www.orcam.com/en/myeye2/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=B2C_MyEye_Adwords_US_Brand_Dr_Phil_1_2021&utm_term=orcam%20my%20eye&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-OeBBhDiARIsADyBcE4MK0YKQ6f4tXLViufYSVAhrdEGPMMIZlVUv0zcwCRYg9pkraKAfXkaAok3EALw_wcB
