Progress Reports
Added 2017-10-24 19:48:45 +0000 UTCHi all,
First I would like to make an apology for the lack of posts recently. I've been neglecting the community side of things and believe me when I say it's not intentional, there's just hasn't been much to talk about.
We are still very active, there just hasn't been much in the way of deliverable changes, and I prefer to talk about completed work, rather than work-in-progress changes/experiments.
As for what work has been taking place:
I've been working on improving our kernel implementation, recently fixing xbe section loading so that it actually works. (Previously we copied the entire Xbox executable to memory, loaded all sections and outright lied about loading/unloading) as well as solving some minor filesystem bugs.
This is part of my work towards having our bootstrap work more similarly to how the real xbox kernel does things, as there are still some core aspects that are not quite right yet.
Jarupxx/RadWolfie and a few others have been working on improving the HLE scanning database (This is now merged, so many titles have potential for improvement)
Patrick is still plowing along with his LessVertexPatching branch, which is already showing outstanding results for some titles that never even booted previously.
I've also still been purchasing games for dumping, although I now have a backlog of titles I haven't dumped yet, so I need to put some time aside for that.
Finally, based on the current pace of development, I'm leaning towards doing quarterly progress reports rather than monthly, would there be any objections to this? I'd rather have fewer high quality posts than many small posts that lack detail.
Thanks for your support
