I wonder about the testing that shows the results of 'chip' patches. Are they synthetic tests that are designed to push the boundaries or real-world that shows how they would perform with the non-pristine life of working with many things on a computer? If the boundaries can't be pushed as hard or fast but my spreadsheet calculations and file copying are not noticeably changed i'd be fine with that.
