HS2 Psylocke WIP Report

The hair of Psylocke Vengeance turned out to be not as simple as I initially thought (as usual). First of all it has a lot of bones to deal with. I want to preserve them and hope HS2 cooperate and said amount of bones won't drag performance too much.

As for the mesh itself...

 You can see some comic-style black lines on the hair but that's not a shader effect or anything, those are actual meshes. Since that style won't fit in HS2 aesthetic (I think even cartoon shader isn't supported in newer repack anymore), I decided to remove those black lines. But I will keep the purple ones so the hair has some accent color.

Like this. And now let's talk about face texture. Pictured above is original texture ported as is. Note how the lines and color effect that are baked into the texture, again for comic book like effect. But like the hair, the style clashes with the body.

Here's how the main texture looks like. Kinda reminds me of water color painting, certainly unlike regular 3D model. Also, despite the main texture being 2K, when ported as it is the sharp details will look awful with artifacts and other issues.

 And thus a day later I cleaned up the textures to match HS2 style more. I Also fixed the purple streak on the hair to be less floaty and more natural.

My principal on making head mods is to make it as accurate as possible but in many cases I have to make alterations so the head matches with HS2 body and overall style. While still maintaining the shape and other distinguishing features of the subject.

Still a lot to do but I'm looking forward to the result.
