This started as a test to see how Dissidia NT models behave in HS2. Rinoa here was about 70% complete when I put her on the poll to see how popular it is. Surprisingly, she came dead last with only 3% vote. That's really surprising to me because I thought Final Fantasy characters are guaranteed poll dominator but I guess Tifa and Aerith are on another level. But anyway, as I mentioned in other post she was almost done so will be released anyway.
Miss 3% here have comprehensible documentation out there so I won't go much into detail. Rinoa is character from Final Fantasy VIII and she's the love interest of main character. She has innate magical power or something, you know, usual Final Fantasy stuff. I haven't play Dissidia NT so I don't know how she's portrayed there but I'm sure it's not far off.
I've heard some complain that this Dissidia NT version doesn't look like her original counterpart. To that I say, dude, Final Fantasy VIII is an old PS1 game. Of course her new iteration will be different than that featured in such old game. That's how it is with fictional characters. Their details changed over time, but some of their recognizable feature will stay. Personally I'm fine with this version. Team Ninja (who helped Square-Enix on the game) is always excellent on their character model.
And it's not like I can use that blocky model from PS1. Even more so the FMV model because nobody would have access to it, probably not even Dissidia NT developers. I have good memories playing FFVIII; I like the game and its characters. Including Rinoa here so yeah, this character is special to me.
...at least it's not another Tifa.
