I almost feel like this is a concept album or at least a story of processing something personal, but tell me your thoughts! What do you think if anything, this album is about!?

I just got to see them live on Sunday in Seattle. It was a really last minute decision, but it was well worth the 4 hour drive back home at midnight. They are really good live and I had a blast!

2023-10-11 00:44:33 +0000 UTCThis album as a whole really takes the music to another level. You can tell they chose each song purposefully and yet every single track also stands on its own. There’s not one song I don’t like! That’s a rare thing. I do know Woosung said this album would feel more urban. Maybe that was the edm stuff? Anyway. I don’t care. It’s amazing. Each single release has spoken to me differently. I’m Alive just knocked on my heart and told me to embrace being alive. This album though…I’ll be listening to the whole thing over and over. I can be your Lifeline, I thought a lot about me and my best friend being there for each other when we’re going through our worst nightmares. You’re Beautiful reminding me to stop all the negative self talk….yeah. I think you get the point.

I've been a Black Rose since 2018 and I only say that because honestly their music and albums, I feel have truly grown with me through the years. Who I see them as now and listening to this album with you and you saying what does it mean to the artist and what does it mean to you really got me thinking of how I used to relate to their older albums as a younger me and now how I'm relating to this album, honestly just makes me appreciate them even more as artists because even now I can feel the growth for them and for myself so it truly feels nice... like nice is a lame adjective but honestly it's just nice to listen to, I have no other way to explain it. Seeing them "evolve" every album is incredible and I'm never disappointed. I so love how they're never afraid to test their boundaries and adapt to new sounds.

I know we've talked about The Rose before (in particular Alive) I really hope they come to the UK so I have a chance to go see them, I really love this band! I totally agree with you about art whether it is music or a painting or a poem that it can mean different things to different people and it's so great that we can all interpret it the way that has meaning for us. Now that I've listened to all of it, to me it feels like it's about accepting yourself, loving yourself and not judging yourself. Songs like Nauseous and Back to me for sure feel like songs to do with a relationship, but I feel like the album as a whole has a much broader concept. It feels like it's about being genuine, being yourself and accepting yourself. Alive makes me feel like it's about embracing all the different sides of your personality and learning to love them, even the darker sides- the emotions we might see as negative - no longer being afraid to feel things like sadness or anger because without the negative we can't appreciate the positive. These things can seem difficult at first when people around you bring you down by saying negative or hurtful things (stealing your colour) and it can seem like the end of the world but what if you learn to move past that (lately my world feels like it's shaking/everything changing) and overcome all the negativity and find strength within yourself- you are alive. The album is called Dual right? So what if they mean embracing both sides of yourself 'happy' or good emotions are light like dawn rising and heavier or darker emotions are dusk - both are important and have meaning. Also in Cosmo - you looked up the meaning (thanks for that I was going to do it if you didn't haha) and you said it means beauty which links back to 'you're beautiful' what if it's not about thinking another person is beautiful but a pep talk you say to yourself - it's just a state of mind, we should all see ourselves as beautiful with all our good and bad light and dark parts.

The first 5 songs are the Dawn side of the album, the 5 other songs are the Dusk side of the album. Then you actually have to put Wonder in the middle (Their Pentagram on the cover). The album is speaking about the Duality of things in life, so you have to link the songs: Dawn - Dusk You're beautiful - Angel Nauseous - Eclipse Back to me - Alive Lifeline - Cosmo And Wonder represent the Duality. They also want you to represent their songs and lyrics to what it speaks to you. We are all different, so what one thing can mean to someone, it can have a different meaning to an other and everything is valid. For example, when I speak about You're beautiful with other Black Roses, some are saying that they see the song as a love letter to a loved one. But what I see is that it's a song that you have to sing to yourself every morning looking at yourself in the mirror ^^

Just goes to show that the guys get each other and let go of any ego type stuff, which is so refreshing. Watching them interact is awesome, just like the boys in BTS- def should check out their video series, In Bloom on their YouTube!

2023-09-25 13:37:27 +0000 UTCEclipse and Cosmo are my fav besides Alive and Back To Me! I cant freaking wait to scream this back to them in NYC!!! Im definitely Dusk and all the darkness lol. This whole album is just beautiful. I wanna know who wrote Eclipse and if they're okay! Lyrically Eclipse is like my whole life's story in song form. Everything I've been through and how I've come out of it is that song. I don't know how I'm gonna survive hearing it and seeing them do it live. I'll probably break down crying. That line in Alive is lyrically everything I felt when my ex broke up with me. I lost literally everything I thought I was and my spirit and had to find myself again. As much as this whole album reminds me of that, I can now separate those emotions and just feel the song musically for what it is. Its taken me 6 years now to finally be happy and good and greatful for my life again. Their last album Heal actually Healed me so much and I'm so greatful and now this album makes me just happy to be Alive for so many reasons both great and small. I'd love full album reactions to Xdinary Heroes Deadlock and Overload! You'll freaking love them! Also NCT 2023 Golden Age album that just came out is my album of the year! Its so musically different from anything NCT has ever done. I hope you get to see The Rose in Atlanta!
