You can hear thunder rumbling in the distance, getting closer every passing minute. But the threat of rain is the least of your concerns as you have escaped from him. You knew it was likely he noticed and is possibly on your trail. You can't stop now. You rummage the item in your pocket, a flashlight that would help you see through this thick forest. But if you used the flashlight, it's likely you will let him know here you are.

If we're talking realistic, and after reading through all the replies, Peter has: - Night vision - Acute hearing - High speed and endurance - Above-average strength - And the capability of thinking strategically. Simply put: Options A and B would doom you from the very start because they draw too much attention. In the event that you were actually trying to escape from a predator like this, the only option that provides a slim chance of success would be to make yourself invisible. No sound. No light. No movement. PERIOD. In fact, if possible, I would try to ease into the nearest object large enough to conceal me and try to relax. However, if there's a risk of making too much noise just to get to it, forget it. There is a reason why animals living in forests go dead silent and immobile when a natural predator is nearby. Unless a predator already has you in its sights, by blending in with your surrounding, you actually heighten your chances of it passing by none the wiser. EDIT: I was super tired while writing this, but there is one other thing I'd like to add. The 'threat of rain'. A thunderstorm would actually work to your advantage by drowning out a certain degree of noise. It will most certainly muffle the sound of someone who isn't moving...Not so much for someone RUSHING around in a forest filled with rocks, twigs, leaves, and uneven earth. Provided that Peter has become frantic to find you, you'll hear him before he hears you (if you managed to hide before he has a chance to catch up to you).

Cause I swear on my life I have always imagined this exact scene. us running in the dark out in the woods in the middle of a thunderstorm..😅. I love it. As for my answer, obviously the middle. However , I believe in the art of juking. Constantly keep the person guessing. So I would go somewhere, turn on the flashlight, set up a whole Trace going in the exact opposite direction I went. And then leave the flashlight in a lower part of a tree so it will look like I'm standing. then go someplace else. Knowing it will draw his attention. Hopefully that will buy us enough time to book it and spread the gap between us. Following the path could be foolish, as that's the assumption that he would automatically take. And he could probably see our footprints. Then again walking off the track means that he could probably hear us rustling through the grass... . And there really isn't a reason not to question his senses and how acute his hearing is. And how well he sees in the dark. He could be using his eyes as a searchlight for all we know( would make for a good scare to turn around and see some random ass glowing blue eyes sitting in the middle of the dark and realize. " SHIT!" 💀 Then rapid sound of footsteps and a jump scare). So it's a matter of picking and choosing which one you want to risk. Make fake footprints heading off the trail. Have no idea just how deep in the woods this man lives. And that's just the way I like it. If it leads to a road what's next? What are we talking about? miles deep away from society? Is there a lake nearby that we could use to escape?. Since we know his scaredy cat ass hates water and he can't swim worth shit. But jokes on him, I can. And I can tread water also if I'm tired. So even if he caught us he'd have to stand there looking dumb while we swam away. If it's a sizable lake that is. Otherwise, he'll probably just run around and meet us on the other side if it's too small with his speed. We could always climb it up into a random tree really high and just stay there all night. Would make no sense to assume that we were there. Out of all the trees in the forest, there should be a slim chance he'd find us there at night. And he would have every right to assume we are actively running away as far as possible. And is there no possibility we can't find his keys, steal his van, and run him over?. Oh that twig snapping feels like a false alarm. I'm not standing. If anything it feels like that twig snapping might might be an animal in one route. And Peter in another route based off of the choices you choose.

You better hope your some kind of track star to chose this option b) Personally I’d choose this one out of all of them. It’s the safest one. The cons are you tripping on something or even encountering a hostile animal. Plus Peter most likely has a light of his own. So if that were to come I’d turn on the flashlight and book it. c) you’re a sitting duck. Idk what really you’re trying to do here but let’s say you’re waiting until morning for light, or even some people to come by. The risks are: he finds you while you’re waiting, when the sun rises he can see you easier, lets say the cops get called you will most likely have to call out to them making Peter more so aware of your location, and for the final threat, the biggest one a fucking dragon appears and you need to absorb its dragon soul but you forgot your Nord Bow at home so the dragon not only kills you and Peter but also kills everyone in the vicinity.
