Storytime Illustrations

As I think most of you know, the purpose of this Patreon is to promote the creation of AR art and stories by supporting artists and writers in our community. Although I cowrite, edit and publish the stories and main comic, I do not draw the art. All art is essentially a custom commissioned piece (that I only art direct) used to support and advertise the stories.
I’ve been hiring a lot more frequent illustrations for the story tier (not the comics, those are separate) lately and I’d like some feedback.
They are usually pretty expensive and I do them partially because it’s wonderful to see these stories brought to life visually and partially to support the artists working in our community with a crowdfunded model. I’ve had to go pretty deep out of pocket for them (over $1000 in the last three months alone) and unfortunately it’s just not sustainable to do that as frequently for the future without additional resources.
I would love to hear from you all. Would a decent group of you be interested in jumping to the next support tier ($25) to help keep those illustrations coming or are we overall content with just the stories every month with a reduction in the frequency and quantity of art?
The alternative is I can just reuse and upload my past personal commissions where they may have overlap with a stories theme but they wouldn’t actually be illustrative and do custom illustrations whenever my personal budget allows additional investments like maybe twice a year. Any feedback or thoughts in the comments are more than welcome. Thoughts?

I absolutely understand and agree. I should also take the opportunity to thank all of you who contribute. From the lowest tier to the highest you ALL are the reason these stories and comics and art get made and I am grateful to you all. If anyone can afford to help more it is extremely helpful but even if you can’t you are still contributing and I’m grateful.

2024-11-14 16:48:23 +0000 UTCI absolutely understand that and I am guessing most of us are in that boat, myself included. The world has gotten more expensive to live in. Either way, I’m gonna do my best to still provide amazing stories and images within my own financial constraints. I’m just hoping there might be some folks out there who might want to help a bit more if they can.
