Could You Guys Please Double Drop The Sopranos Sometimes? Especially When Someone Is Missing From The Couch ✊🏾✊🏾

#Sunday Rundown Jackie (Guy with cancer in the hospital) was not a middle man. He was the Boss (leader) of their "mob family"

Kafkaesque

There’s a long history of Rabbis in orthodox Jewish communities ordering goons to beat men to force them to give their wives a religious divorce

I don’t think having scenes correlate to the title is meant to be subtle or heavy-handed, it’s just a structural outline. As chris mentioned there’s usually more layering beyond what’s on top. It’s similar to the chess stuff in the wire. I don’t get the impression it was written to be subtle. It just provides a framework for certain ideas to start taking hold but isn’t the sum total of what the show is exploring.

#sundayrundown Gods I love the ending. "Hi-Jack, Bye Jack". Hasid em, but I don't believe em. This was the first episode I saw, back in 2014(crazy as it sounds, I never saw the first two episodes of the series until after I'd seen every other episode through season five multiple times). This is the hour of television that turned me into the instant addict I remain today. And it's a good one - one of my favorite "minor" episodes of the first season. Denial, Anger, and Acceptance are emotions of a dying man. You have Jackie, whose into the "acceptance" phase. You have Tony, who is angry that he's witnessing a "beautiful man" get whittled down to nothing by death. You have Brendan, whose natural cockiness has brought him into denial about just how far he overstepped the line with Junior. The hasidic is not bothered by death, seeing as how his murder will bring a "dark cloud" form over his father-in-law's house. And of course there's Christopher getting a crash course in these emotions with Junior's "lesson". Another recurring theme in this episode is the danger of going into territories you know you should stay out of. The Hasidics get involved with Tony (and vice versa, since Hesh warned Tony to stay out of business with them), Artie and Charmaine accept the role as caterers at Tony (with Carmela's change in attitude towards Charmaine at the fundraiser being the impetus for her telling Carm about her fling with Tony), Chris selling crystal meth to Meadow, and Livia beginning her manipulation of Junior Brendan gets whacked because he overstepped boundaries an episode earlier. "YOU'VE GOT NOTHING COMING TO YOU". Definitely one of my favorite Paulie moments. He goes from reading the paper calmly to absolutely destroying the guy. It really shows what a psychopath Paulie is. Do you guys think Junior was too weak/lenient, by not taking Mikey's advice? Of course he asks Livia what to do as well, which could also be a sign that he's not decisive enough. Tony takes advice sometimes but it seems like he's still making his own decisions, but maybe I am overthinking. If Junior's hit on Tony had worked then who knows what happens, but even then i'm not sure Junior would be able to control things. I have watched this show tons of times and I NEVER noticed how hard Hunter and Meadow were tweaking. Hands opening and closing, thanks to ultra HD you can see the sweat all over their foreheads and Hunter grinds her teeth hard during Meadow solo. The ending sequence to this episode is stunning. The mock execution of Christopher Moltisanti and actual execution of Brendan Filone juxtaposed to Tony and Carmela listening to Meadow sing, "All Through the Night," is still one of the most beautiful sequences this show has produced. Plus, Tony thinks himself a golem, tricking us into thinking his self awareness may result in growth. Those complicated shadows are killing it.

I feel like you guys are taking that Carmella conversation too deep, the way I interpreted was that they ended up in different places when it could've been the opposite. When she says it wasn't for her I think she just knows who Tony was about and wanted no part of it, I don't think thats a dig at Tony or Carmella; they're just different.

The man with cancer, Jackie Aprile, is not just the middleman—he’s the acting boss of the family (including boss over Tony and Junior). It’s mentioned in episode 2 at the sit down, Junior refers to him as boss. This is why he had so much influence. Also in episode two Tony throws Brendan onto the meat table because he says something like “everyone knows you’re really running things since Jackie became chemo-sabe.”

The Sopranos was voted on to replace Cobra Kai and Shogun was voted on to replace The Bear.

The Normies

I haven't been subscribed for months. Did this show replace something? I can't find any announcements or anything about a poll for it. At first I thought it replaced The Bear but it looks like The Sopranos started before it ended. Is there going to be a poll for The Bear replacement show?
