2025-01-09 13:24:24 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown, FMAB. I think one of the saddest lines in the show is Hohenheim thinking that he "wants to be with Trisha and the boys, grow old and die with them". Particularly because this thought is shown at the moment when child Ed is seen peeking in through the door of his dad's study, watching him and wondering why he is shut away. We've seen that moment from Ed's POV before: he's reflected that memories of his dad are mostly all like that. Because the awful irony is that Hohenheim's desire to be with his family is what led to him missing so much time with them. Instead of actually being with them, he was researching a way to *be* with them and not continue living after they died. And then he left afterward, and continued to miss all the time he could have had with his family.

Therefore I pretty-much didn't see this entire arc until adulthood, and was confused whenever characters reference the events later on. When I finally got the series on DVD, it was a treat to watch episodes I'd never seen, AND to see all the uncut content from the episodes I HAD seen. You guys get all the goods from the beginning; lucky sods. π

Genkai is a psychic, Kuwabara would be considered a psychic; even Yusuke would be considered a psychic even though he isn't ever specifically referred to as one. Suraj had the right of it when he made reference to Ki being your spirit.
