The name will start getting significance in later episodes and you are just supposed to know the name by now. Also yes u might have already noticed how there is less censorship now as compared to OG plus it is like a season thing now similar to small Netflix seasons of 13 episodes so yes the pace is a lot better and a lot more focused, story driven. Souls from the human world go into the soul society and souls from the soul society are reborn on earth. If this cycle is disrupted by too many souls being taken out of the cycle it can cause the universe to fall apart. Soul Reapers maintain the balance by guiding souls and slaying hollows to free their souls. Quincy's powers destroy souls and they refused to stop hunting hollows even with the threat of the universe being destroyed. The Quincy genocide was still horrible, but the Soul Reapers saw it as being in the name of the greater good.

It’s just the requisite intro to the arc showing what our main cast can do as a reminder but they put their whole pussy into the animation, it’s a visual feast right off the bat and it’s only up from here! It’s barely been any time in the show but it really felt like it’s been years, like they’ve spent that time getting better. It was just against scrub hollow but it still feels good seeing them pop off. Also I knew it was coming but orihimes milk missiles still caught me off guard, they’re each twice as big as her head!

Fun fact, that “Bankai” and “Getsuga Tenshou” Ichigo performed at the beginning of the episode is 100% fanservice to us fans that waited 10 years for TYBW. He did not go Bankai nor use Getsuga in the manga (It’s still canon). Oh and just so that you guys are aware, the anime adaptation for TYBW comes with a lot of new scenes and fights that were not in the manga, but are all considered canon. Some patrons might mention “oh this scene/fight/dialogue wasn’t in the manga” in the upcoming weeks, but just know that EVERYTHING you see from now on is 100% CANON to the story, as Kubo himself is working full time as Director with Studio Pierrot.
