That makes it no less convenient that this demon shows up at the exact moment they need him in the exact place that they are when he has never been mentioned or hinted at before.
It’s just plot convenience to move the story along. They wrote themselves into a corner and needed to get moving. It happens.

I watched on my Blu-Ray, but after I read your comment, so I expected it. They seemed to have a couple extra scenes than the Blu-Ray did.
I'll have to double check if it is on Prime here in Canada.

The wildest Smallville casting of actors from BSG was Michael Hogan as Slade Wilson. That was a hell of a thing when I first saw it.

Welcome to the ride that is Battlestar Galactica.
The names can be confusing, especially when the military have call signs as well. So Lee Adama is also Apollo, Kara Thrace is Starbuck and Saul Tigh is Asshole. OK maybe not that last one. ;)
This links back to the 1978 series where Apollo and Starbuck were their actual names.
One thing I always say about this show is that if you have favourite and least favourite characters at the beginning, prepare to see that challenged throughout the show. Every "good" character behaves badly at some point and every "bad" character have their positive moments. It's part of what makes it really compelling.
You're going to love it.

So you guys just have a 3 hour video on Prime and you had to pick a place to stop? My copy, which comes from my DVDs has two separate episodes, and they split it about 5 mins after you guys did.
It's no big deal but I think you'll realise there's a natural break when you get to it next week.
Hope you enjoy the show!

Super stoked you guys are watching BSG! Definitely one that I have no qualms calling at least coneptually the greatest. I doubt theres's anyone who could watch this an not really question "man what would I do".
I saw this during my first deployment almost 20 years ago and one thing that really stood out to me the whole way through (possibly even more so now) is that I can totally see Americans acting this way at every turn. Can't wait to see you guys try to hash out all of the moral questions and conundrums throughout this show.

Rana didn't recognize Tahmoh Penikett as Lt. Karl "Helo" Agathon who was FBI Agent Paul Ballard in Dollhouse.
It's so weird to see Cally (Nikki Clyne) in this, now knowing of her sham marriage to Allison Mack and their involvement in NXIVM.

#SundayRundown (Angel)
This episode we see the Fang Gang venture into the magical land of the Sewer of Plot. We get to see two simultaneously convenient things injected into the story purely for the sake of moving the plot along.
First, we have these random kids who just happened to be surviving down there and just happen to know Gunn. This only happens so we can set up one of them running out of the sewers after seeing Angel go vamp, which leads to Jasmine knowing where they are and capturing them. Hooray for plot 😃
Second, we get some totally not random bug demon thing that just so happens to have the exact information that we need to stop Jasmine. And what do you know? He’s in the same magic sewer as the also totally not random kids. What a coincidence 😀
Angel 4x20 was such a good day for plot. Gotta love it 😏

Yeah but just for the first few couple of months but after COIE he was changed to be different and less angsty than Dick. Which I guess is probably why the didn't like him because there were stories like Batman Cult, Ten nights of the Beast, Son of the Demon and TDKR having a character like him took away from the broodiness

"What would you do in [latest moral quandary]?" could really be an every-episode feature in this series. I'm personally with Col. Tigh on this one, but if anyone's looking for there to be a 'right' answer, they've got the wrong show.

The actress playing Dee is in a Canadian Heritage Minute portraying Viola Desmond ( a Canadian civil and women's rights activist and businesswoman). In the one minute commercial it shows her being arrested for refusing to pay the 1 cent tax for a movie ticket in 1946. In reality she resisting racial discrimination. She hired a lawyer and fought it, which cost her, her marriage, and she ultimately lost. In 2010, she was granted a posthumous free pardon, 45 years after her death. A fellow Nova Scotian, she is featured on the Canadian $10 Bill since November 26, 2018.

I think it's because we're introduced to him in a very sympathetic light compared to how in the comics he showed up as an antagonist. Then again Jason Todd was written as a wholesome kid who loved being a hero and they still hated him, so maybe 80s readers just didn't like kids

#SundayRundown (Young Justice): Man, learning about what happened to that boy Danny Chase at the hands of the people on Apokolips.. was just fucking evil. Like it legit made me sad lol.
This episode highlights one of the many strengths of YJ where in these last 3 episodes things are wrapping up & tying everything from the previous arcs together. At the WatchTower, there was atleast some representation from each of the arcs; bringing everyone & other side characters together to help close out the season & confront Zod. Love it. It’s still sad because you can tell between this & the remaining episodes + the stuff with Brion that they had a plan for next season. I hope, sooner or later, we get to see those ideas come to life.
For the last 2 SDRs for YJ can we get Navi or Chris to come in and go over the episodes? I understand we don’t wanna spoil Rana who’s in S2 but it would be nice to get the view of people who’ve watched the entire thing.

This is going to be long. Glad to hear that you guys are going to do more of the animated movies, kind bummed most of it is going to be Batman stuff I'm kind of sick of him. I'm also curious if you guys are going to watch the DC Showcases since they use the lesser adapted DC characters?
Hopefully Rana won't see this because spoilers:
A) In the comics Danny Chase aka Phantasm was briefly a member of Teen Titans. He was meant to be the kid hero on the team because at the time the New Teen Titans (The inspiration for the 2003 cartoon) were all adults. The character wasn't well received because he was a bratty and arrogant kid so he was killed off like his friend Jason Todd (Who was twelve when he died). He is one of the few comic characters who have been permanently killed off with every attempt to revive him being shot down by higher ups.
B) Also in Lor-Zod aka Christopher Kent has an interesting history. He was created to be Superman's adopted son, because at the time Lois and Clark couldn't have children together. His story was about getting away from his abusive parents and eventually he became a host for the Kryptonian god Nightwing (who Dicky boy named himself after). After the New 52, he was rebooted as a villain, got the haircut he has now and started aging backwards for some reason.

#SundayRundow #BSG Are y'all frakking ready for peak TV? Regarding the Baby Debate, I think she just wanted to know what it felt like to take a life with your bare hands, cause remember ultimately the baby was gonna die anyways from a nuke. When they said they received the attack message "in the clear" it's a military lingo meaning not encrypted. Which is normally never done, which is why Adama asked again to confirm. It's an odd thing to do but also shows the urgency of them needing to send the message out.
So say we all.

#SundayRundown. Here is a fun fact about the Legion of Super-Heroes. In the 80s, the Legion and the Teen Titans were DC's most popular comics courtesy of their respective creative teams. Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen (RIP, creator of Lobo and Jaime Reyes) on Legion of Super-Heroes. And Marv Wolfman and George Perez (RIP) on New Teen Titans.

There's a whole lot of "oh yeah! I know that actor." in BSG. This series was filmed in British Columbia and many of the actors appeared in a lot of tv shows produced in that area. When seeing the actress playing Dee for the first time, I was Leonardo DiCaprio pointing in that famous meme because I remember her from "Smallville" which was filmed in BC.

fun facts: the music stinger during the ceremony with the flyby before adamas speech is the theme song for the og series, a lot of stuff you see in the "museum" are things from the og series like the cylon basestar (cylon battlestar equivalent) the viper captain that gets wiped out says the old cylon starfighters looked like a big wing and no pilots, these are all shout outs to the old show, not that they are directly connected, its just easter eggs

#SundayRundown (Battlestar Galactica)
I’ve always been meaning to go back to this series, but never got around to it. I’ve seen it referenced constantly and have enjoyed the bits of it that I’ve seen over the years. Can’t wait to get deeper into this show during these reactions 😁
This show was popular for being an allegory of the war on terror. Laura Roslin being the 43rd in line for presidential succession was a nod to Bush being the 43rd president.
Fun Facts: The actor that plays Gaeta is Alessandro Juliani otherwise known as L from Death Note. And you saw that Tricia Helfer was in the Mass Effect games, but Michael Hogan (Tigh) was as well. It’s a pleasure hearing all of their voices again 🥳
