Hey guys!
Here is the process video and file of the "Wake Up" Illustration. So, what will you find interesting about this process?
I've been gradually shifting towards more complex compositions, one step at a time. Therefore, it's currently very important to me to use simple references that still resonate in some way with the audience. In this case, I thought that a little duck and ladybug would set a nice, cute, and chill mood.
This time, I delved more deeply into the concept of fashion than usual, searching for an outfit reference that looks casual but flexible enough for me to incorporate the duck and ladybug idea. Although you will see different colors in her outfit, yellow is prominently featured on the larger pieces, such as the jacket and cap. As a secondary color, the red in the bag provides a contrast that draws attention to the second animal in the reference.
If you read the previous post about dynamic composition, you'll see that I cover various points, but I put an emphasis on the outfit more than anything else. The current exploration remains somewhat simple, closely resembling its outfit reference, but that's fine for now. I'll delve into more complex iterations with clothing in future explorations. It's good to take one step at a time.
In case you missed the invitation in the past post titled "Enemies to Lovers", here's a new fashion board on Pinterest where I'll be personally curating interesting outfits for character design. Please refrain from adding new pins to this board:

Soon, I'll be sharing the process and file of the bird portraits, along with more insights into my creative process, for you to explore and find your own style. Stay tuned!
