Chapter 28 Not strong enough

Jaune and Genesis fought each other. Jaune used a spear, while Genesis used a sword.

The clash between Jaune and Genesis was intense as they skillfully wielded their chosen weapons. Jaune's spear allowed him to maintain a distance advantage, striking with precision and agility. Meanwhile, Genesis' sword displayed its versatility as he swiftly parried and countered Jaune's attacks, aiming for close-quarter combat supremacy.

Angeal and Sephiroth didn't go after Jaune's friends because they knew that they couldn't go anywhere as Shinra's soldiers had already surrounded Sector 5, effectively trapping them. Instead, they focused on how Jaune fought.

"He improved very fast."

Angeal spoke as he observed Jaune's fluid movements and strategic decision-making. Sephiroth nodded in agreement, impressed by Jaune's adaptability and resourcefulness while fighting Genesis.

Genesis, at first, was at an advantage, but as he fought, Jaune learned how to fight him more effectively by exploiting Genesis' weaknesses and anticipating his moves.

'How can someone who isn't chosen by the goddess be so talented?'

Genesis wondered, his pride wounded by Jaune's skill. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy toward Jaune's natural abilities.

"I must applaud you for your exceptional skills."

Genesis begrudgingly admitted it, his voice laced with a mix of admiration and envy.

"But I will end it here."

Genesis declared, He then did something to his sword. Jaune felt that his sword had become more powerful. It was glowing in bright redish light.

The aura surrounding Genesis's sword intensified, crackling with raw energy. Jaune's eyes widened in surprise as Genesis became more aggressive in his attacks. The air around them seemed to vibrate with the sheer force of each swing, and Jaune struggled to keep up with the heightened intensity.

"T-Too hard! You hit me too hard, dude!"

Jaune gritted his teeth, trying to withstand the force of Genesis's blows. The impact of each strike sent shockwaves through his body, leaving him gasping for breath.

He knew that if he didn't do something soon, he would be completely overwhelmed.

'I have no choice but to use it. It took so much of my stamina, but I should be able to deal with him.'

As for Sephiroth and Angeal. He would find another way to deal with them.

Jaune took a deep breath before he used the water-thunder breathing techniques. It was his current strongest move.

"Mizu Kaminari No Kokyu: Ni No Kata—Arashi No Ryuoh!" (Water Thunder Breathing: Second Form—Strom Dragon King)

Sephiroth, who was indifferent, suddenly felt a surge of electricity coursing through his body. The power of Jaune's technique was beyond anything he had anticipated.

"Dodge!"

Genesis, who was so into the fight, didn't notice the change, but he heard Sephiroth's words clearly. He then instinctively leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding the electrifying strike that Jaune unleashed.

A huge water dragon with so much electric energy inside, moving at light speed, went past him and destroyed everything in its path.

The force of the Strom Dragon's impact sent debris flying and caused a powerful shockwave that rattled the surrounding area.

Jaune smirked. It didn't matter if Genesis could dodge it in time or not. It was because Jaune could still control the dragon with his spear until the energy inside it was completely depleted.

With a flick of his wrist, Jaune commanded the dragon to change course, directing its destructive power toward Genesis once again.

The dragon roared as it altered its trajectory, hurtling towards Genesis with renewed fury.

Genesis was greatly surprised by the sudden change of direction of the dragon. He quickly realized that he couldn't evade the attack this time. As the dragon closed in, Genesis braced himself for the impact, desperately searching for a way to defend against the impending destruction.

"That's enough."

Sephiroth intervened. He summoned his long katana and then slashed the Strom Dragon in half. It then exploded into a burst of bright sparks and rain.

Jaune watched as Sephiroth easily dealt with the dragon. He couldn't help but click his tongue. If his most powerful move got dealt with that easily. He had no way of standing a chance against Sephiroth.

Sephiroth looked at Jaune with a mix of interest and amusement.

"You are strong, but not strong enough. I will teach you how to become stronger."

"Sephiroth! We needed to finish him before he became stronger than this!"

Angeal spoke to Sephiroth. He didn't know what was inside his mind. He knew that Sephiroth didn't plan to kill the young man or even bring back the young woman that Hojo needed.

He intentionally let them go. If he wanted, he could catch them all. in an instant.

"Stop it, Angeal. Look at his face."

Genesis warned his friend as sweat ran down his face.

Sephiroth's eyes were glowing green. Sephiroth's gaze was filled with hunger for battle.

Angeal could sense the darkness growing within him, and he knew that if they interrupted him, they would be putting themselves in great danger.

He hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do next. However, he also understood that Sephiroth's actions were driven by something beyond their comprehension.

Jaune got hit by the full force of Sephiroth's killing intent. The sheer intensity of it made Jaune's knees buckle, but he refused to back down.

'I can't let him pass me, or else everyone...'

Jaune couldn't finish his thinking before he had to defend himself against Sephiroth's attacks.

His long katana was too sharp. Every slash cut all of the surrounding areas like they were just pieces of paper.

Jaune tightened his hold on his spear. He knew that this man was stronger than him, but he didn't think he would be much stronger!

As Jaune parried Sephiroth's strikes, he realized that his only chance of survival was to find a weakness in his opponent's relentless onslaught. He focused on analyzing Sephiroth's movements, searching for any opening that he could exploit to gain the upper hand.

But.

'It...perfect'

Jaune's eyes widened as he couldn't find a single opening in Sephiroth's attacks. Every strike was precise and calculated, leaving no room for Jaune to counterattack.

Desperation began to set in as he realized that his chances of victory were slipping away with each passing second.

[Hey, Don't lose hope, Jaune. I have found something that might be able to help you. Please buy it!]

"Greater Teleportation!"

Jaune gritted his teeth and bought the Greater Teleportation Scroll. He then used it without hesitation, transporting himself and everyone that he considered to be in his party along with him.

Sephiroth's eyes widen when he sees that his prey has vanished into a moth of light. He quickly scanned the area, trying to find any trace of Jaune and his party, but they were nowhere to be found.

"How can they just disappear like that?"

Sephiroth muttered to himself, frustration evident in his voice. He had finally found someone who could match his strength, and now they had slipped away.

"We should contact the headquarters as fast as possible. They might still be in Midgar. "

Angeal didn't blame Sephiroth that their targets had escaped, as it was a perplexing situation. How could they know that he had something that could teleport them away?

Sephiroth shook his head, then told him.

"It's useless. I can feel that the power that comes from that old scroll is powerful. It might even be possible that they were on another continent."

Sephiroth was sensitive to magical energies and had a strong intuition. He was sure that they teleported away to a faraway place.

Genesis felt angry. Not toward Sephiroth but toward his own incompetence. He could only accept this shameful truth and vow to become stronger.

"So what should we do then?"

"We will tell everything that happens to the president. I will be the one to take the blame, as I am the one who let them escape."

Sephiroth spoke without an ounce of hesitation. Angeal and Genesis wanted to say something, but he stopped them.

"There's no point in arguing about it now. We need to focus on finding a way to track them down and bring them back."

Angeal and Genesis could only sigh. They knew that when Sephiroth made up his mind, there was no changing it.

They could only accept it and move forward with the task at hand.

...

"That feeling... isn't too good. blegh"

Jaune had brought everyone out of danger through the greater teleportation scroll. And the feeling of teleportation made him feel like the world was spinning. He took a moment to steady himself, trying to shake off the disorienting sensation.

"J-Jaune Onii-Chan, I don't feel good."

"M-Me too, I want a lemon drop!"

Ruby and Yuffie spoke as they also clutched their stomachs, feeling queasy from the teleportation. Jaune quickly realized that the disorienting sensation was affecting everyone, not just him. He knew He needed to find a way to alleviate their discomfort.

And Lemon drop from Harry Potter world could help them with that.

After buying and distributing the lemon drops to everyone, Jaune then eats it himself too. He felt better then he looked around him and saw that they were back on Wutai Continent.

"If it is this far away then. They won't be able to get us."

Jaune sighed in relief that they had successfully escaped. The silver hair man would be in his nightmare tonight he was sure of it.

Jaune then looked at Aerith and Elmyra. The two just lost their home. And now they were like survivors floating on the sea.

Jaune felt like it was because of him that they lost their home. They sent their best soldier there because of him.

"I am sorry for what happened."

Jaune said sorry to both of them and of course the two didn't accept it because they thought it wasn't his fault at all. They understood that Jaune was blaming himself out of guilt, but they reassured him that it was not his fault.

"It wasn't your fault, Jaune. It was those meanies."

"That's right. Don't blame yourself for something that you didn't do. And you help us escape safely. It should be us to say thank you and not blaming you"

Jaune heard them and felt relief. He then thought about something, Now that they didn't have a home anymore and they shouldn't be able to live on this continent that Wutai and Shinra were waging war against each other.

It was too dangerous for them.

'I have to bring them back with us no matter what.'

Jaune decided. And he didn't have to convince them because they accepted it easily.

"That's good then. I didn't know where we should start when I heard that we are on the Wutai continent."

Elmrya spoke in daze. She didn't think they would be so far away from her old home. And if Jaune just let them be. She knew that they would not last for a day.

Jaune could only rub his head in embarrassment. He still didn't tell them where his place was. They wouldn't believe him even if he told them the truth. Teleportation is one thing but coming from the other world is another matter entirely.
