Chapter 9 This immortal started cultivation again

Jake went home and had pizza with his sister while watching TV.

He even forgot what TV was and what he usually did with it. He watched the news like a normal person should, but his sister looked at him like he had gone crazy.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Jake asked his sister, perplexed by her reaction. She chuckled and replied.

"Well, you usually never pay attention to the news and prefer watching anime or playing video games. It's just surprising to see you so interested in what happened in the society we lived in."

Jake's sister continued.

"I guess it's refreshing to see you taking an interest in something beyond your usual hobbies. It's nice to see you do what normal people do, even if it's just for a moment."

Jake nodded. He didn't have anything to say as he realized that his sister was right. Before he got sent to the otherworld. He was just an otaku who rarely paid attention to anything happening in the real world.

But now the world he lived in wasn't the same as before. There were many things that his old world didn't have, like high technology and people with supernatural powers like mutants.

His sister was even one of them. She had the ability to control fire, which Jake thought was pretty useful but still lacking.

'I should teach her some martial arts based on fire.'

With his vast amount of knowledge about martial arts and cultivation techniques. He could make a chicken into a phoenix if he ever wanted to.

As they talked and had dinner together. News that interested him appeared on the screen.

It's about a vacation place that's full of nature. It showcased beautiful landscapes, serene lakes, and thrilling outdoor activities. Jake's mind wandered to the possibility of harnessing the power of nature in his martial arts training.

The Great Way of Buddha was great for physical strengthening and spiritual enlightenment. It incorporated meditation, mindfulness, and various physical exercises to achieve balance and harmony. Jake wondered if he could incorporate some of these principles into his own martial arts practice to further enhance his skills and inner peace.

"Do you want to go there, Jake? If you want, we can go there one weekend. How about that?"

Jenny asked her little brother. It was phenomenal for someone like Jake to want to touch some grass.

Jake thought about it a little bit before he asked her about what was of most mortal concern.

"Do we have money?"

Jenny's smile faded slightly as she realized that finances might be a bit tricky.

"I still have some savings left. We can go without a problem."

Jake shook his head before he smiled.

"I don't want to use your savings, Jenny. Let me find a way to earn some money so we can go without worrying about it."

They didn't have parents to rely on, and Jake knew that they needed to be self-sufficient. He thought about something. Earning money for immortals like him was like breathing air. It was very easy because, before he became immortal, resources were the most important to him. And resources for cultivation needed money. Like a lot of money that could bury the river.

Jenny smiled at how considerate Jake was, even though he always gave her a headache with his introverted personality. but he also very much cares about her well-being.

"Well, if you say so, do you want me to help you find a part-time job?"

Jake shook his head and told her that he would find it himself.

After the dinner Jake then went to his room while his sister insisted that she do the dishes. He didn't know why she was so happy today.

He didn't know that Jenny was happy because of him. Not only did he not hate her for being a mutant, but he also changed for the better.

...

Inside his room. It was time for him to start cultivating. He began by opening all of his profound entrances. It was very easy for him. He just needed a little bit of profound energy and a pinky finger.

With this, he wouldn't have to worry about bottlenecks in his cultivation progress. As he focused on channeling his profound energy, he could feel the power surging through his veins, bringing him closer to unlocking his true potential.

He gritted his teeth. Because his body was weak, the pain multiplied, but he refused to give up. He knew that enduring the pain was necessary for his growth as a cultivator.

His body began to expel the impurities that had accumulated over time, purifying his meridians and strengthening his foundation.

The process was excruciating, but he persevered, knowing that it was a crucial step towards reaching his ultimate goal.

As the impurities were expelled, he could feel a surge of vitality coursing through his body, fueling his determination to push through the pain and continue on his path of cultivation.

And then he felt a profound sense of clarity and enlightenment, as if a veil had been lifted from his mind.

The purification process not only improved his physical strength but also sharpened his mental focus and spiritual connection.

Now he had stepped into the path of cultivation once again.

'1st level of the Elementary Profound Realm, it felt good. With the Great Way of Buddha. My body has become stronger than the average cultivator, and my mind is more resilient than ever before.'

He could feel the energy coursing through his veins, revitalizing every cell in his body. The Great Way of Buddha had unlocked a newfound potential within him, allowing him to tap into a higher level of consciousness and understanding.

This cultivation method was really superb. It was far better than the old one he used when he was a mortal. The old method paled in comparison to the Great Way of Buddha, as it only scratched the surface of his true potential.

'Well, now all I need to do is absorb all of the profound energy in the surrounding area. Too bad it was too thin and scattered to be of much use. Nevertheless, it's still better than nothing.'

1st level, 2nd level, then 3rd level. As he reached the 3rd level, he realized that the profound energy in the surrounding area had completely depleted. Disappointed, he knew that he would have to find another source to continue his cultivation.

'Money, I need a lot of money if I want to ever reach the peak of the mortal realm.'

He pondered various ways to acquire the necessary funds. He could think of many ways. And he will start it tomorrow. Of course, after school. Even though he didn't like it, he still needed it for his normal life.
