Chapter 53 It wasn't that hard

After breakfast, or should he say lunch? 


Lin Ruoxi still had so much work left. But she chose to speak with Yang Chen about his pharmacy company first.


It wasn't that far from Yu Lei, and it wasn't that big of a company. They only have about twenty people inside the company.


"So, I can go and work there right now, right?"


Yang Chen asked, to which she nodded.


"Yes, you can go there anytime you want. But can you help me with PR work first?"


Lin Ruoxi said with a sighed. Her work load seemed never-ending, and she needed all the help she could get.


"You sound really hopeless." 


Yang Chen playfully remarked, noticing the hopelessness in Lin Ruoxi's voice. 


"Is there anything specific you need help with regarding the PR work?" 


He asked, genuinely wanting to assist her in any way he could. Lin Ruoxi, who became more soft, was someone he was willing to help.


Normally, Lin Ruoxi would be very angry about his remark, but for some reason it made her feel comforted. She hesitated for a moment before finally telling Yang Chen.


"We lack manpower to effectively handle the PR work. They have a limited team and tight deadlines, which puts a lot of pressure on them. But I think you could be of great help to them somehow."


Yang Chen nodded. PR work was not his area of expertise, but he thought it wasn't that hard if he put his mind to it. He had always been a quick learner and was confident in his ability to adapt to new challenges.


"You can count on me; I will help you first then I will focus on the pharmacy company. To be honest, I really don't have to spend so much time on the company, as I don't need to research anything. They just need to sell my pills that I will provide for them."


Yang Chen had so many pill formulas. He just needed good herbs and a good cauldron to produce them.


"Yes, I will count on you. M—My husband. Please help me with the work first."


Lin Ruoxi said, blushing slightly. This was the first time she had referred to Yang Chen as her husband.


Yang Chen felt his heart beat a little when he heard her call him her husband. He couldn't help but feel happy. He realized that their relationship was progressing in a meaningful way, even though it was based on agreement.


"I will go first then. Don't overwork yourself. Rest if you can."


Yang Chen then left Lin Ruoxi to her work and then went toward the PR department. Even though he was the husband of the CEO, He could be considered a new employee, so he should greet his colleague accordingly.

Yang Chen greeted his new colleagues while slowly walking towards his seat. The moment he sat down, he was once again surrounded by several ladies with outstanding looks, each of them with radiant eyes staring at him.


They thought that Yang Chen wouldn't come to work with them when they saw how angry Mo Qianni was but to their surprise he was right here and worked like nothing happened earlier.


The ones that came and greeted him first were Zhao Hongyan. She was a lady with big, wavy curves in a beige suit. Zhang Cai, a little plump lady. Liu Mingyu, a quiet lady and a tall lady in a pink outfit, had shoulder-length hair that was dyed with several streaks of purple and beautiful facial features that revealed a distinctive office lady style.


Following the welcome from the three ladies, numerous ladies from the office also welcomed Yang Chen.


After the greeting, Yang Chen then worked on the documents. Due to his being new to the office, he took his time familiarizing himself with the tasks at hand.


"Big brother Yang Chen, if you don't know anything, you can ask us!"


Liu Mingyu, who was the quiet girl, said it with a smile. Yang Chen accepted Liu Mingyu's offer and thanked her for her kindness. He then asked many questions about the document, and it took him only a few minutes before he knew almost everything that should be done.


"Wow, your skill in handling documents is very impressive. Are you sure that you really are new here?"


Zhao Hongyan said this while checking on the documents that Yang Chen had been working on. Yang Chen smiled and replied.


"I guess I just have a knack for picking things up quickly. But I appreciate your compliment!" 


He continued to diligently work on all the documents that were used to tower over his desk. Now he was not only familiar with the document he had been assigned, but also with several others that were related to it. 


His efficiency and attention to detail caught the attention of his colleagues, who often sought his assistance in organizing their own paperwork. 


Yang Chen's ability to quickly grasp and navigate through complex documents became a valuable asset to the team, making him an indispensable member of the office quickly.


And as he worked tirelessly, he got a call through the desk phone. It was Lin Ruoxi.


"Yang Chen, This is Ruoxi. Do you have time this night?"


"I don't have anything to do tonight. Why do you ask?"


"Can you accompany me to a dinner? Xu Zhihong has invited me to attend dinner with him at the Blue Bay Hotel to talk about this year’s partnership for the Autumn Fashion Show. I am afraid that he might plan to do something bad to me."


Lin Ruoxi's voice through the phone was filled with concern and hesitation. Yang Chen could sense her unease and immediately reassured her. 


"Don't worry, Ruoxi. I'll be there with you." 


Lin Ruoxi let out a sigh of relief, grateful for Yang Chen's support. 


"Thank you, H—husband. I feel much better knowing you'll be by my side." 


With their plans set, they ended the call, both feeling happy that they could speak with each other like this.
