Chapter 34 He is a real deal

Startled by Yang Chen’s unexpected home, Lin Ruoxi jumped from the sofa and tried to hide that she liked Korean drama. Her reaction was very cute for Yang Chen.


“Hey now, you don’t have to overreact that much. Liking Korean drama wasn't something you needed to hide. Actually, I kind of liked it before too.”


Yang Chen didn't make fun of her or anything. He actually liked Korean drama when he just came back to Zhonghai. 


He had found comfort in watching the shows during his lonely nights, but he never expected Lin Ruoxi to share the same interest he had back then. It was a pleasant surprise.


Lin Ruoxi heard Yang Chen clearly, but she still pressed a button on the TV remote. As the TV turned off, her face began blushing, knowing that Yang Chen had now figured out her guilty pleasure of watching Rom-Coms.


She just tried it a little bit in the past. Who would have thought it was so addictive? She had initially dismissed Korean dramas as a passing fad, but their captivating storylines and relatable characters had quickly drawn her in. 


Now, she couldn't help but feel relief that Yang Chen shared her secret passion. So she could watch it in the future without having to pretend.


It was so tiring from work, and if she had to hide something she likes to do at home, Wouldn't it be too much pressure for her to handle?


"Let's watch it and talk about what you want me to do from now on. You wouldn't want me to open the mutton skewer store anymore, right?"


Yang Chen went to sit on the sofa and turn on the Korean drama for her. 


His words remind her of what she wanted to ask him. She had brought him to a pharmacy company, but she didn't have much knowledge about it. And then she questions herself.


'Would he have enough knowledge to run a pharmacy company?'


It would be a disaster if he didn't know anything about medicine. Seeing her expression, Yang Chen laughed a little before he explained to her the knowledge that he had.


"If you don't believe me, come here, and I will show you something."


Lin Ruoxi walked toward him and sat down next to him on the sofa. She was curious to see what he wanted to show her. 


"Show me your hand."


Lin Ruoxi was hesitant at first, but she slowly extended her hand towards him. There's nothing to worry about. She had slept with him in the same room before, and he didn't do anything weird to her. This time, he wouldn't do anything strange either. 


Yang Chen gently took her hand in his and began to examine it closely. He traced the lines on her palm with his finger, his expression growing more serious with each passing moment.


"You work too much without even taking care of yourself properly."


It wasn't something that anyone could tell. She worked really hard, so she thought that Yang Chen was just using the obvious point to make it feel like he knew something.


And as she was about to say that, she felt a warm current run through her body. The warmth spread from her hand to the rest of her body, instantly relaxing her tense muscles. 


Surprised, she looked up at Yang Chen, who had a knowing smile on his face. It was as if he possessed a mysterious power that could heal and rejuvenate her with just a touch.


"What is this? What did you do to me?"


She asked with a mix of curiosity and awe. Yang Chen's smile widened as he replied, 


"It's called Qi, an ancient Chinese energy that can be harnessed for healing and does many miraculous things." 


"Qi?"


She never believed in something that could not be explained by science, but the immediate relief she felt made her question if it was really true that there was something so magical like that.


Yang Chen didn't say anything more, and he focused on healing her. She felt a warm sensation spreading through her body as Yang Chen's hands gently glided over her skin. 


The pain and fatigue that had plagued her for years seemed to melt away, replaced by a newfound vitality. 


It was as if every cell in her body was being revitalized by this mysterious energy.


"And this is just a simple method of Qi circulating. I still have many more techniques and practices that can help you further.


Yang Chen said, breaking the silence.


"I also have so much knowledge about herbs and plants that could be made into pills that could help cure diseases or injuries and even extend life. I will make them and give them to you so you can test them in the lab."


Yang Chen was confident that even though the lab might know about what ingredients were inside, they would never know how to make them. Or how to make it work on humans or animals.


Otherwise, there would be many medical saints in Yun Che's world.


Lin Ruoxi didn't know what to say, but now she knew that Yang Chen was a real deal. She suddenly wanted to know who he really was; maybe she should try to find his background.


"Please don't, Ruoxi, if you try to find out about my background. You will regret it. Please just let us be like this and not make things difficult for each other."


Yang Chen could tell that she started to be interested in him, and maybe she wanted to check his background. But if she did that, it would be dangerous for her, as his information could potentially put her in harm's way. He didn't want her to get involved in his complicated past and risk her safety.


Lin Ruoxi didn't think that he could see through her like that. She thought about it a little bit before she nodded. Everyone had a secret, so she wasn't in a position to ask for something she also didn't want to reveal. 


"I understand; I will not make things difficult for you."


She was more reasonable than Yang Chen had hoped for. Maybe if she acted cute and asked him nicely. He might tell her everything about himself. Just kidding.
