Ulquiorra and Hisoka (4th spider Phantom Troupe) share the same VA in the sub. Ulquiorra - Espada #4 Minato - 4th Hokage Hisoka - 4th spider Pretty cool.

Thymilph -> Thymine, Guame -> Guanine, Adiane -> Adenine, and Cytomander -> Cytosine. They might not seem as obvious at first like the other two main villains.

Not only does she think that her friends are dying, but what Menoly and Loly are doing to her is essentially PTSD-esque for her. It's different to straight up fighting - they are bullying and abusing her, but physically and mentally.

2023-12-21 03:53:46 +0000 UTC"BLEACH" FILLER SKIP/INTRO SKIP COMING UP In the interest of actually being helpful this time - rather than just laughing at your Pesche-induced pain - I tell you this: Episode 167 is the end of the first portion of this arc, and where a MASSIVE break began, for reasons I'll talk about another time. After 167, skip to 190. When you get to 190, don't just skip the intro; skip the entire first half of the episode, as it's literally all recap. (Necessary at the time, because of the insane gap between canon episodes, but obviously super annoying for anyone watching today.) After the mid-point "BLEACH" title-card, there's still a bit of recap, but don't fast forward; 'cause it smoothly transitions into the new stuff. As for the intro, there's a huge-ass spoiler right in the middle of it. Fortunately, the part the spoiler is referencing comes quickly. Just wait to watch the intro until 196. 👍🏽

I have a feeling that steak lovers everywhere will rejoice at this little tidbit (love you Chris) ;) Couple of things this episode. Loly and Menoly call Orihime a princess because a part of her name in Japanese means, well...princess! (hime-princess) When Hiyori and Shinji were introduced, Hiyori even calls attention to this fact by saying how noble Orihime's and Chad's name sound ("Hime" -"princess" from Inoue Orihime, and "Tora" - "tiger" from Yasutora Sado) compared to hers and Shinji's (Hiyori Sarugaki- "Saru" means "monkey" while Hirako Shinji- "Hira" means "common"). It's all just Japanese wordplay, you would be suprised how many anime names are just really lame puns. Speaking of Saru, you might remember the 3rd hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi who summoned Enma, a large monkey. Well, his surname "Saru-Tobi" likewise can be translated as "monkey- jump" which makes sense given his fighting style in Naruto. Small trivia for Nel and Pesche. Instead of Ichigo, Nel calls him Itsygo in Japanese and generally speaks in a very lispy, childish voice which I find makes her tantrums a little bit more tolerable or dare I say...cute? Pesche is likewise less of a pain in JP where he is voiced by the legendary voice actor Takehito Koyasu who you may know as the one and only Zeke Yaeger in AoT, the devilish Dio in Jojo or Roswaal L Mathers in Re:Zero. I know the group hates Pesche a lot (and believe me, I do too lol) but I think you would perhaps find him more funny in JP where his voice is less cowardly and more deep. Just think of Zeke and Sasuke doing a straight man routine in that Uryu and Pesche vs Cirucci fight. Btw this style of "tsukkomi" and "boke" comedy is widely used in anime and considered pretty funny over there, that's why you find it sprinkled in many JP shows. I had a friend who lived there for a year and speaks JP fluently and he told me that sarcasm isn't much of a thing there as it is here, in the West. So I'd say that's why the comedy often times fall flat for us over here, especially in these older shows whose main target audience was Japan. Perhaps that is why it often sounds so weird in English. With all that said, all the best and happy holidays! You guys always make my week with your uploads, I hope you are proud of yourself and of what you provide people everywhere :) P.S: Would you guys want a post going deeper into Bleach trivia like this every week? I can even find something if you request it (a bit of info that may not be apparent just from watching the show). I only ask, because I genuinely enjoy writing content like this haha.

Do not fret Normies, I am hear to refresh your memories! The show has told us the following so far: Grimmjow is number 6, as shown in his first appearance, and every following appearance. (So far the show has shown that Yammy is 10, Aaronerio was 9, Grimmjow is 6 and Ulqi is 4. You do not need to change these numbers in your heads). In fact, the Espada are ranked by power, so they get stronger going down from 10. Also, the Espada are Arrancar. Arrancar are a type of Hollow. (Hollows are the monsters you saw at the start of the series). The Fracciones have been explained before - during the fight between Hitsugaya and that one goonie of Grimjow's. That goonie gave a long explanation of the whole system. To refresh: Espada can have subordinates, called Fracciones. There is no hierarchy among them, so their power varies. I also want to ask you guys some questions. You see, Bleach is a show all about philosophies and character motivations. Suraj comparing Orihime to Rukia is actually great introspection. So the following questions don't have a right answer, they are just ways for you to provide fascinating insight into how you are interpreting the themes of the show: What does the hollow hole represent? What does Ichigo's mask represent? Why was Rukia ready to die in Soul Society? If everyone fights to protect their 'heart' as Kaien says, what are the Arrancar fighting for? If Aaronerio sends a visual report to all of his 'comrades', why did Orihime see it? P.s. I think that last group meeting went well Suraj, don't judge yourself harshly. You're a good leader.

Now these episodes we got a single glimpse and the one Espada who's name may not follow the naming scheme Halibel, or is it Harribel? Hallibel? Literally nobody can agree. The anime subs and manga translation goes with Halibel but some video games go Harribel, then Kubo did an official release that did Hallibel but the latest Bleach content that mentioned her had Halibel and I am going actually insane. Now for some more relevant stuff I wanted to talk about a theory I actually came up with while watching your reaction. Ulquiorra said that Aaroniero could share his experiences with the other Espada which is how the others knew he died and 'killed' Rukia in the process. Ulquiorra, and more importantly Aizen, consider Orihime one of their allies. So as a result I think the reason that Orihime is being hit so hard by Rukia's stabbing is because she was also sent the information of what happened. Nothing confirmed but a new headcanon of mine.

To this day, Lordgenome busting through his own mech, just so he can punch the heck out of Simon, will always get me hype. Truly one of the manliest things a man could do to another man. Also funny how just an episode later, Chris will be right about the Moon being a big snitch to some aliens. Anyways, looking forward to these upcoming reactions and for the manliest ost ever, "Libera me from Hell" aka "ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER", to start playing one day.

While it is revealed that he's the 4th espada in rank, it is very clear that he's the most level headed one out of the group and someone who Aizen trusts the most, with him leading both missions to earth. So it is interesting that he's 4th with how much focus he has gotten. His deduction, his apathy, and his ability to be so cutting with his words is just a fracción of what he's capable of. I can't wait to see you all react to the rest. If you ever have the time, watch him subbed as he's voiced by Daisuke Namikawa (Choso from JJK), who gives us one of the most iconic performances in shonen anime. Loly and Menoly calling Orihime a princess is a play on her name (hime means princess in japanese) as well as to the fact that they're jealous since she's getting Aizen's attention. Simps gonna simp, they're more annoying than Pesche ffs. It's also funny how similar this is to the soul society arc, we got a female character resigned to her fate that needs saving, Ichigo dying(?!), Chad having the worst luck and Uryu fighting yet another scientist.

Great reaction and discussion. I'll go ahead and explain Lord Genome's specialized use of spiral power since I'm 99% sure it's not explained later. As his name sort of implies, Lord Genome appears to have an acute understanding of genetic information. Lord Genome was able to use his spiral power to create beastmen. Understandably, everyone probably wrote off him transforming the beastmen women intro drills and his flaming head as "just anime things" but there is a reason for this. E=mc2 implies that matter and energy are one in the same. That's how he turned the beastmen women into drills and why the spiral power that manifested from his head looked like flames. He was converting matter to energy and vice versa. EDIT: It also explains how Simon was able to hit Lord Genome with a sudden energy blast from his core drill. I know this all seems like a stretch and you totally don't need to know this to appreciate those moments. However, as you will see later, the creators of this show paid attention in science class or at the very least watched a few science documentaries. Some of it can definitely be written off as just anime things but it's pretty apparent that someone put some thought into the plot of the show. A very recent example is how Jujutsu Kaisen explains the physics behind their curse techniques. Most of the time you don't need the show to explain the physics behind the curse techniques to appreciate them. However, knowing that the basis for those techniques is somewhat rooted in reality adds a new level of appreciation.
