53:02 of the Angel reaction had me dying. Rana is so silly

For sure, I was just trying to point out that not only do the mistakes keep happening they kept getting bigger because the more powerful willow gets the less she feels she needs to restrain herself or considers ramifications. It's not that willow doesn't think she can never mess up but I think deep down she's starting to believe any fire she starts she can put out and no one is arguing with her because she is the fire brigade lol

Kendall DeSouza

Willow has ALWAYS crossblundaries with magic, even back in season 3. She just so happens to get away with it a lot...

Ash Lee Can

Ironically, based on the Slayer rules she’s actually particularly open for a Slayer.

El Diablo Robotico

At the same time, Buffy has been becoming more and more reliant on Willow for spells, which in turns has made Willow start to associate her value with how powerful she, thus feeding into her magic binge

BetheSOUL

for sure a spoiler lol

Kendall DeSouza

#SundayRundown Superboy is sensitive to all strays, tech or organic (Sphere, Wolf etc.), because he's a stray himself. Love him

Mzuka

#Sunday rundown. Dawn may be a whiny teenager but she and the writers point out a very important character flaw in buffy that causes her behavior. Buffy continues to shut people out and hold the world over her shoulders alone when she doesn't have to. It's what slayers tend to do and it's what drove riley away. Yes there are responsibilities she has to take care of now but she doesn't have to shut out her emotions around her friends and family to do so. The only person she let see her vulnerable was angel and this is exactly why Riley's issues were valid. She is not incapable of showing vulnerability she chooses not to in front of certain people to appear put together. Dawn seeks out comfort and reassurance from Joyce because she is not getting it from buffy. Finally at the end of this episode buffy when she opens up and cries in front of dawn and shows her vulnerability that is when they are both there for each other.

What happened to the sync on young justice? It was going fine until yall had to get up and then when yall went back to it it didn’t sync at all

Radical Dog

#SundayRundown Hey Chris, or whichever Normie reads this! The reason why Gar’s voice actor sounds so familiar to you in episode 2 is because it’s the same actor that voiced Gar in the OG Teen Titans cartoon and Teen Titans Go.

Michael Pamon

I like the flipflopping sympathy/disgust for Spike. Like here the Normies are like "ugh just let the man leave his flowers stop being mean to him" and Suraj says "he just hates all vampires" but then, Spike has commissioned a sex robot in the form of Buffy, now obviously Xander doesn't know that and yeah, you can let the man just leave his flowers obviously but still, Spike is quite gross and they are right to be wary of him.

Kongolor

lol @ Micky mocking Joel Grey as if he were faux famous. Dude was kinda an icon in his day.

Tasker Thorn

don't think its a spoiler anyone tell me otherwise, but so you know this is Elisabeth Röhm/Kates last episode she moved to Law&Order after this obviously a good career choice she liked the show and all but a starring role vs a recurring character its not a hard decision to make

Macs

you guys completely forgot lindsay grew up dirt poor in texas, as in abject poverty, hence the outfit and the truck, thats probably the truck he came to LA in and he saved it for sentimental reasons

Macs

Lol "fake hand" rana has a point how is lindsay driving stick with 1 hand?

Macs

#SundayRundown - for a superhero show, Jeff/Black Lightning landing on that rock was probably some of the most devastating shit I’ve seen in most superhero stuff I’ve watched. Legit made me yell lol. Also, the VA for Gar aka Beast Boy is the same voice actor that voiced him in the Teen Titans series

Kuro

the audio and video for buffy are out of synch by a couple seconds, thanks for all your work though

#Sundayrundown I feel like a big part Willow's trouble with Magic is that she a genius with no supervision and a lot of pressure. Like the Normies keep saying that it's taking a while for her to come into her powers but in reality becoming a real wizard/witch in most fantasy generally takes decades if not a lifetime. A lot the magic users we see on buffy like Ethan Rayne cheat and get magic through other means. Now yes willow is a prodigy and so she's already ahead of where most would be at her age and most people don't know a guy with a massive collection of rare magic books like Giles but on top of that she keeps pushing herself and getting pushed by circumstance to learn bigger and bigger magic. So now a 20 something year old is speedrunning ultimate power and not only is no one drawing any boundaries for her they are enabling her because honestly they need her power

Kendall DeSouza

the spell isnt "have sex become angelus" its him reaching this one moment of pure happiness. sex with buffy was the culmination of their relationship, thats why THAT specific moment turned him into angelus. i get sex is good but its not the end all be all of happiness.

She is my fave artist of all time. Born yhe same year too. Jan 19th for her and nov 20th for me. Been rocking out to east asian music since 15/16

#SundayRundown There was a egment on The Daily SHow back in the day, that mentions this Angel scene...(it's a 6+minute video but the related part starts at 5:30.) https://www.cc.com/video/wxwuti/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-jason-jones-live-from-sochi-ish-behind-the-iron-closet

"If nothing we do matters then all that matters is what we do." and "All I wanna do is help. I wanna help because, I don't think people should suffer as they do. Because, if there's no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing in the world." Yes, this is basically the philosophy many of us have adopted and try to live up to. Another highlight for me was.. Kate: I think maybe we're not alone in this Angel: Why Kate: Because I never invited you in I interpret that as meaning that the Powers That Be stepped in to allow Angel to enter to save Kate. If she was dead, splashing water on her face is not going to revive her but she probably would have if Angel did not show up. I imagine there was a lot of induce vomitting not shown on screen .

#Sunday Rundown I feel like a crucial piece of what Angel says in his speech is, “All I want to do is help…because I don’t think people should suffer as they do.” He’s no longer doing good deeds to make up for what he did as Angelus, or to win the reward of being turned human, or to win a final victory over evil. He just wants to help people suffer a little less. Both he and Buffy have moments of doubting whether all their hard work and sacrifice actually makes a difference, because the evil just keeps coming. I’m sure Buffy saved some kid at Sunnydale from vampires just for them to die when the mayor attacked at graduation or whatever. But the point Angel makes here is that even if they helped someone for one moment, it mattered anyway. That’s why the inclusion of Anne in this season is so brilliant. Back in Season 2 of Buffy, Buffy saved Anne (then going by Chantarelle) and the other people in that vampire cult from sacrificing themselves to Spike. Then Buffy saved her again (when she was going by Lily) from the underground hell/sweatshop thing when she was living on the streets of LA, and gave Lily her job, her apartment, and even the name she was going by, Anne, when she left. But Anne has been such a follower up until this point that we’re left thinking that she’ll just fall into some other messed-up situation after Buffy leaves. But in Angel, we learn that she kept the name Anne and is now in a much more stable position and is even giving back the community – running a shelter for teens living on the streets. Neither Buffy nor Angel know that they’ve both helped this same young woman through so much of her life. They just fight on, doing good for the sake of doing good, but we in the audience know that Angel and Buffy fighting the good fight HAS made a difference to – certainly to Anne, and to everyone she’s helped. Also, about Lindsey’s outfit change and truck – it’s been a while, but Holland Manners mentioned at one point that Lindsey came from a poor family in the South, and it’s one of the reasons he’s motivated to work so hard and is resistant to walking away from money and power. I think he’s tried to cover up that part of himself with his fancy clothes, nice car, and lack of a Southern drawl, but in this moment, he returns to his roots or his “real” self when he’s at this low point and really wants to hurt Angel.

#Sunday Rundown Another great episode of Young Justice! Man, I am noticing so much more on rewatch of this season. There are so many little things in just these first two episodes that foreshadow or set up big stuff down the line. It's really a testament to the writing that I can watch this and see more and more of the layers of the story each time through. Good catch about Otto/Plasmus being Anna's twin brother - everything involving the meta human trafficking is so awful, and the show doesn't pull any punches about it. I could talk a lot about all the characters, but I want to mention Artemis in particular because she kicks a lot of ass in these episodes. She's had a really great character journey: starting off as someone afraid to get truly close to the others, and who was insecure about her place on the team. We've seen her grow into someone whose first instinct is to protect others and welcome them with open arms. We see this with her combat abilities too: in the first season she utilized her archery skills more than anything else, in part to distance herself from her father's training. Now she uses all kinds of weapons and fighting styles, combining what she's learned from people like Black Canary while also growing comfortable with using her father's moves. She has learned from all of her experiences and become a much more balanced person. I think it's really interesting that Artemis is such a well rounded character, because her original comic counterpart is not. Before the show Young Justice, she was just a very minor villain that went by Tigress, and there isn't a lot to say about her. She had the same name and parents as the YJ show version, but that's about all they have in common. Even if you look her up there's only a few paragraphs on her wiki page, because she just hasn't been in a lot of stories. So for the writers to intentionally take this really minor villain and expand on her to create the Artemis we have in this show is really cool. It's a lot like what they did with Kaldur/Aqualad, and I always appreciate how much this show takes less familiar parts of the DC world and expands on them.

cosmotron

About Angel and Kate, the thing is i think it was like: Something higher up must be helping them, because otherwise how did Angel get in? She was alive, and she never invited him, he must be doing something right. ♥ Trying to help, trying to do the right thing.

Sunday Rundown: Willow has always been very careless with magic. She uses magic to fix things quickly. This goes all the way back to season 3 when she first started practicing. When Buffy comes back after running away she tells her she used magic to try to get rid of a pimple. Seems small but it is a gateway to bigger things. She tried to use magic to get rid of her and Xander’s feelings, despite seeing a similar spell go wrong the year before. She tried to use magic to get revenge on Oz and Veruca, she also tried a spell to stop being sad when Oz left. Even the “ball of sunshine” she tried to create in triangle to help Buffy slay vampires she is using magic for a quick fix!

Casey Van Duin

For Sunday Rundown - For little fact about latest Buffy Episode Forever. There is a scene where Giles is listening to Cream "Sunshine of Your Love" This is a call back to episode in Season 3 called Band Candy. Where Giles and Joyce are listening to this song together in His House while they are under influence of Candy. Fun and Sad at the same Time.

Eric Zebrowski

yeah get Chris to have an epiphany too so he comes back to Angel next year! The rest of the season is so fun. And I see you Rana, shipping Cangel. Bout time! 😏

Chris K.

As you can see Lex Luthor has the UN all agreeing with the goddamn restrictions on the Justice League except for Garth and Troia of course. Also Markovia's ambassador has forbidden any heroes to enter their country too but that didn't stop Nightwing and the others. However Brion has had second thoughts about becoming a meta human after what he's seen but then all of a sudden Dr. Jace came out and just activated the tube he was put in as if she was waiting for them the whole time. Something is up with her.

Brandon Gibbs

SundayRundown: That conversation with Kate is essentially the theme of the whole show laid out in dialogue. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do" = it's not about achieving redemption, but the acts of atonement, in and as of themselves; insufficient to ever 'make up' for what Angel's done, or reach any endpoint victory, but all he can do regardless. Angel coming to understand that is basically his character arc from late-Season 1 until now. The scene has stayed with me ever since I first saw it as a teenager as a path to find meaning in life without faith in a higher power or cosmic scale. Existence has no meaning except that with which we imbue it, and so the smallest act of kindness can be the greatest thing in the world.

Echoes Garden

"Didn't Willow do the spell that made them unable to see demons?" "No that was Tara." And Tara took RESPONSIBILITY for her ACTIONS whereas Willow has always felt SORRY and CONTINUED the pattern of behavior. Her feelings of anxiety find their opposite in the control she can exercise through magic, surely that's a healthy crutch

Liam Horton

I like the idea of living a long time and seeing what the future holds, but more than that I want it for the people close to me. It's tough seeing family getting older or passing away and it would be nice if they could be around, and healthy, for longer.

Rufus May

#sundayrundown: Kate. Was. Not. Dead. The PTBs (Powers That Be) stepped in.. that is my take on the situation. Oh the Lindsay hate.. I cannot wait for the rest of the episodes in this season..

Shirlene Wright

#SundayRundown Probably will be mentioned again, but the song Giles is listening to in this episode is the one he played with Joyce during band candy. A small thing, but it makes me smile and cry at the same time

DarthCaedus

#SundayRundown - Suraj going from being unsure about the hype around Dick Grayson and not feeling like he was ever a convincing solo character to now being a fan is the character development I love to see But yeah, you guys are right. This is a dark storyline. Merging the theme of the meta gene and it realistically becoming a hot commodity in this universe after the events of last season + the real world concerns about human/sex trafficking was a good mix of real world concerns being utilized in a fictional world.

Zee

Yet another emotionally wrenching Buffy episode - simply heartbreaking. To lighten things up, here's a clip of Anthony Head and Amber Benson appearing together in the VH1 Rocky Horror Picture Show 25th anniversary special from 2000. Head sings a song in dressed in the Frank-N-Furter costume; if you ever wanted to see Giles wearing eyeliner and fishnet stockings, then this is your lucky day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LH43hTh5KI

Gaius Frakking Baltar

One thing I think about constantly as I rewatch the show with you guys and by myself is that all of these "big emotions," the heartbreak, the decisions, and being suddenly dropped into a parental role are all happening to a 20-year-old. It's really easy to forget that these characters (aside from Giles) are 19–21 years old. They're gonna make mistakes. They're going to rely on their mother (or the more seasoned "adult") for everyday life help...They're going to struggle to process life alternating events... I dunno...food for thought, I guess

hannemanart

Not that it's necessary. Just confusing at first. I thought I wasn't synced up for a minute.

Alexis Cardarella

For me, your visual starts to (not the audio) lag a bit all the sudden right after the funeral scene, in Willow and Tara's dorm. Doesn't match up with your audio.

Alexis Cardarella

I love angels speech at the end of this episode, it really highlights the heart of what the shows all about, redemption/forgiveness and fighting literal and inner demons. Also, The show is definitely a slow burner to start but now's when things really begin paying off. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of S2.

ray s

The Normies joked about Joel Grey in the Buffy opening credits but he is actually A Name! Showbiz legend!

Ashleep

The audio on the Buffy ep falls behind the video by a little bit during the funeral scene--or at least, it did for me!

Ashleep

#sundayrundown the reaction to Jefferson's back getting blown out was exactly what I expected 😂 #youngjustice

Q

#sundayrundown: Fun Angel reaction, I feel like the 4 on the couch this week are really getting the show and enjoying it a lot. This final batch of episodes of season 2 are great and can't wait to see what you all think.

Buffy links work great, thank you Marketa!

#SundayRundown Great points made during the discussion! -- Please keep in mind that the show was not renewed when the finale aired. This season's finale was the series finale when it aired. Spike cares for Dawn; I think he sees himself as a protector to Dawn more than an enforcer/parent .. he won't ever stop her from doing stupid stuff, he'll just watch her back while she does it. Also, I love Angel showing up; it shows how in sync they will always be (unlike her and Riley like Marketa said - that was great) - for him it wasn't a question of "if" but "when" he'd get to her and for her, she wasn't even surprised that he came. Aldo, Willow's proclivity to be sneaky rears it's head again 😋 and SMG kills it once again! She really should have gotten an Emmy for Buffy, she has so many amazing acting moments.

bits

The man who stands up and accuses Garth and Troia is named Sumaan Harjavti, brother of the original elected president in Qurac who the group met in season 1. In a story told in the tales, Sumaan plotted with Queen Bee overthrow his own country behind his brothers back. This caused Qurac to fall and be absorbed into what is now called 'Greater Beealya'. He then proceeded to do other dickish things, like having his brother assassinated, his niece imprisoned with all the other people replaced in early season 2, AND now he served as a blank stamp of approval for Luthor to let him do anything else. Can you blame Batman for wanting out of this?

Shihi

#SundayRundown Just a head up, S3 and S4 of Young Justice sometimes have little scenes that happen during the credits or at the end of the credits so just make sure to let them play out. Also good on you Chris, with that X-Men reference shouting out Havok.

i say A.S.A.P cause thats what it is......and the song is by Utada Hikaru

fun fact: Troia aka donna troy (the themiscryan ambassador) is wonder woman's sister and the ORIGINAL wonder girl and my favorite teen titan.
