SUNDAY RUNDOWN: We never see Szayelaporro's hollow hole, but the data book says it is on his penis, which is hella weird.

Yeah, I remember as this arc was coming out and I was reading it, people were complaining about how similar it is to the previous arc. It's not exactly the same but when you compare them together, they do both follow the exact same story beats. I stopped reading Bleach after this arc because the conclusion wasn't satisfying to me and I could already predict what was happening in the next arc. I'm re-going through and finishing the series now because the normies are watching it.

Asian Kung Fu Generation is goated, glad you guys checked out the opening. They also did the legendary opening 2 of OG Naruto (Haruka Kanata) and they also did opening 19 of Shippuden (Blood Circulator). That Kaien Shiba was a plot twist and a half. Rukia's about to turn up ❄️ I assume y'all seen "Cifer" in the subtitles in the scene with Gin and Ulquiorra. Cifer is Ulquiorra's last name.

I had a conspiracy theory about this section of the story in "BLEACH": That the Hueco Mundo arc was frustratingly similar to the Soul Society arc, because Kubo noticed how many people were shipping Rukia and Ichigo, and decided the reason was because there was an entire arc dedicated to Ichigo rescuing Rukia. Thus he said "If we spend an entire arc rescuing ORIHIME, everyone will become IchiHime shippers instead!" 😂
Didn't work of course. There have been IchiRuki shippers since the beginning of the manga, and we are a stubborn lot. ✊🏼

For real though, guys, hang in there. Although the recaps are an absolute KILLER, I promise you, this arc starts to pick up not too far from where you are now.

(Also, just to be clear, Dordoni was saying that Ichigo didn't need to mask up to beat him the FIRST time. Ichigo was getting his ass kicked because he wanted to try and conserve his energy, but after going bankai, he could've ended it there, but decided to defeat Dordoni with the mask out of respect.)

I would highly, highly recommend you guys read the manga chapter 264, which 154 adapts (in fact I'll link some pages here). The artwork is brilliant, especially at capturing Rukia's rage. It is up there with my favourite parts in the series, the anime, unfortunately does not do it enough justice, Michelle Ruff absolutely kills it though. It is gut wrenching for Rukia, and remember this has been set up since Byakuya first uttered the words that Ichigo does bear a striking resemblance to "him" aka Kaien way back in episode 17 when Ichigo is half dead on the ground. This was later emphasised again, when Ukitake first laid eyes on him and Byakuya rightfully dismissed it as the characters don't have a connection. Kaien was also Ukitake's lieutenant so his reaction had significant meaning. Nevertheless, the series is telling us to pay attention to this. They've been building towards this for so long, it was the main reason why Rukia accepted her execution and now she has to kill that person again. Here's the official translation for 4 pages of the manga chapter since I have a shonen jump subscription (please support the official release). https://imgur.com/a/LUXWUEh

I like the way they portrayed Simon and Kamina’s relationship. It was symbiotic, they filled in for each other’s shortcomings. Simon worshipped Kamina as this paragon of manliness, but it turns out he can be insecure too. Kamina also looked up to and admired Simon’s tenacity. You notice how it started out as “believe in the Kamina that believes in you” to “believe in the you that believes in yourself”. Simon couldn’t process having faith in a useless person like himself. It’s only in this episode that he realizes that “he had strength inside him all along” as cliche as that sounds.
