It doesn’t help that the writers on each show aren’t consistent
Even this episode of Angel has Darla talking like she won’t lose her soul and be replaced by a demon but more like she’ll be the vampire
The writers were definitely not communicative about the vampire lore and the accuracy of it gets worse at different times
(Really all people need to know is that Vampires are a metaphor for people who don’t wanna grow up and make adult decisions)

Actually, this interpretation has been debated. Some interpret it as the demon exists within, but it doesn't have a will other than to cause pain and mayhem. In addition to the bloodlust, the demon forces out the worst in the original person, letting them give in to their worst impulses and perverting their emotions. The "soul" as The Person is not accurate, either. The soul is portrayed more as the person's innate goodness, which includes the will to self-improve, to act selflessly, to feel remorse. Without it, the demon can influence the vampire's nature unchecked; with it, the vampire can restrain it and assert its humanity (to an extent, as we see many times throughout the show).

He hasn't lost Buffy, though. Buffy is literally going through the horrific trauma of watching her mom get incredibly ill while also trying to protect her sister from both outside evil forces and shielding her from the worst parts of what's happening to their mom. Any decent partner would be able to step back and think "sometimes, shit isn't about me" but he can't because the dude has a massive complex over not being the hero of the story. The dude could be going out and getting a job and some new friends but he has decided to be wholly dependent on someone who has had the world on her shoulders since she was 16. It's true that he's not a bad guy, but he's being ridiculously selfish and needs to be called out on it.

I do agree with how easily fans overlook Spike and Faith evil acts and chalk it up to these characters making the show more exciting and therefore should be loved. 🙄 Riley is cheating on Buffy by going to vampire women. He needed something emotionally and physically from them which he is not getting in his relationship. Usually the main reason why one partner strays.

#SundayRundown; it’s hilarious that Mal’s arguing and idea essentially beat DC’s equivalent to Thanos lol. Just for clarity, Thanos was Marvel’s take/copy of Darkseid. Darkseid was 1970, Thanos was 1973. Mongul is essentially Thanos lite who himself is Darkseid lite. Side note: Vandal Savage the master instigator lmao

LOL, I cannot believe you guys are still confused about this. Once a human dies, the soul is gone . The blood taken in by the human before death is kind of a virus in a way, but it spawns a demon instead of a virus mutiplying. The body is taken over by a demon thus becomes a vampire. This takes a little time to happen and it can vary but typically it happens sometime before dawn. The demon may act like the human in many ways and even have the same personality but it is still a demon thus needs to do demon things, evil things.

#SundayRundown #JJK to answer Suraj's question about How many FPS the human eye can see in regards to Naobito Zenin's curse technique the answer is believed to be around 30 to 60 FPS but just because you can see something doesn't mean you can react to it as even the best athletes in the world need about .10 of a second to react to the info they see. Also just to clear this up Naobito Zenin is not Toji's dad he is Toji's uncle. I don't believe this is a spoiler as it was mentioned in season 1 Naobito has 2 brothers one of which is Toji's dad and the other is Maki and Mai's dad.

#Sunday rundown. Two great reactions to episodes in the Buffyverse guys. I don't know if you noticed but in both episodes the act of getting bit by a vampire can be sort of treated as a metaphor for drinking and addiction by desperate characters. Darla is struggling with her own mortality and basically wanted to return to "alcohol" to cope but angel didn't want to let that happen. Unfortunately her former drinking buddy dru forced her back. On buffy Riley is using vampires to fill his need to be needed.

its a solid theory/plan but they are not planning for the worse, they are hoping for the best so they are not preparing for vamp joyce. if they let her turn they would also have to do the spell to give her a soul again like angel. willow knows the spell and it requires a special crystal that is rare so they would need to get on to finding one asap cause you cant turn a corpse into a vamp.

#SundayRundown..... I understand the initial frustration with Riley. That's how I felt when I first watched. But Riley was always there. Buffy closed herself off when her mom got sick and that's nothing we can blame her for. But Riley tried to be there. She kept him out of the loop, never confided in him emotionally like she did with Angel. She's never told Riley she loves him. You've heard him say it multiple times. That's no crime, just reality. And to clarify, Riley isnt Mr. Perfect, he's insecure and terrible at communicating. But I really don't think there's a bad guy in this situation between Riley and Buffy. She didn't love him the way he loved her. He felt it and started sabatoging their relationship.

That's why going into these final 3 seasons I was pretty worried that they won't fully grasp the depth and seriousness that's happening. I mean, emotional cheating is a thing. He is getting something both physical and emotional from the women who suck his blood that he (from his perspective at least) doesn't get from Buffy. It's a metaphor for more than one thing, including both drug use and cheating.

I don't view what Riley's doing as cheating, however stupid and dangerous it may be. No one would say someone sneaking off to do drugs or drink was cheating on their SO. Sometime the hatred for Riley among Buffy fans is taken to ridiculous levels. If any other character was doing that, it would be seen a clear cry for help. Sadly, Riley just doesn't have the maturity to deal with everything that he's lost over the last year and losing Buffy as well. He's made some poor choices, but he's not a bad man. So many fans are weirdly more forgiving of killers like Faith and Spike than a simple, flawed, lost man like Riley. Which says more about them than him.

#SundayRundown Well holy shit! What an episode. WAR is is one of my favorite episode of the series as it’s just full of action and holy shit/wtf moments. I love seeing Nightwing step up fully as one of the unofficial leaders of the League while everyone is away. It’s reminds me how he was so disappointed that Batman wouldn’t let him fully step up, and now he fully can and is showing how much of a leader he is. Also, i’m 100% with Chris, Arsenal is one of the MVPs of the second half of the season to me. It’s like all the Roy Harper’s have that ‘fuck it quality. Throw in a little PTSD and you got a bad ass character lol.

Sometimes laughter comes out of fear or being uncomfortable with a situation, but I get what you're saying. At times, it does seem like they lack a deep understanding of human nature and react more like game characters than people. All logic and no messy humanity. I was surprised at Micky wanting the Scoobies to keep calling Buffy, like she's just a game character slayer, and isn't really a human dealing with a very sick mother.

#sundayrundown this angel episode is why I love the show so much. You think it's going one way but then they throw in a complete 180 and turn the tables (enter Drusilla). It's also really sad that angel did so much to help Darla and then had it backfire on him twice. Once in the trial and then with dru. It really sort of kicks of a more angry and p*ssed off angel moving forward.

I was surprised at the amount of laughter in this serious episode. Maybe you need to be familiar with mental illness to get it. Buffy was playing the radio to drown out her mother's ramblings just like Dawn was trying to cover her ears. The upbeat "Mario kart" tune is supposed to emphasize and contrast Buffy's anguish, not be humorous.

So a couple things…Mongul is a Superman villain and he is commonly mistaken for Darkseid. They aren’t related at all besides both being enemies of Superman however he was somewhat based off of Darkseid. His daughter was also in James Gunns The Suicide Squad, but she gets killed in the beginning. Darkseid is the name of the guy you keep thinking of, and he came before Thanos. Thanos’ creator actually based him off of Darkseid. Like most of the time DC did it first Marvel just happened to beat them to the punch in live action so now ppl think DC is ripping off Marvel with certain things, when usually it’s the other way around#SundayRundown

Well that was quite the YJ episode wasn't it? First we see that the JL is still unsuccessful in proving their innocence to those stubborn aliens, Savage provoked Mongul that The Reach being on Earth is a threat to his own plans and goes there to destroy it with the War World and just after the YJ team stops him and the War World Blue Beetle disables the whole team, but Arsenal barely escapes in a wreckless way that almost got them all killed and that was not good at all. Now that's another big problem their gonna have to deal with!

Two very emotional moments with Buffy. Breaking down while doing mundane things is a very relatable experience. Too bad Pat was so fixated on the choice of music, which I think was deliberate to contrast with what Buffy was going through.
The revelation scene between Buffy and Joyce was also very emotional and perfectly acted by SMG. I disagree with Marketa, maybe it would have been better not to tell Joyce the truth at that moment but you can clearly see on Buffy’s face that she didn’t have the strength to hide it anymore. It’s a bit too much to pretend from her to be rational at this point.
P.S. Did Spidey watch the episode again but awake this time?😉

Sunday Rundown: Just some clarification for the Mongul/Darkseid/Thanos of it all. So to sum up, Mongul and Darkseid have no actual relation. Mongul is just another big jacked up alien badass. Mongul was created in 1980 and is more of a super strong alien with the Warwold making him a huge threat in the DC Space scene. Mongul is most famously known as a Superman villain and the villain of the iconic "For the Man Who Has Everything" Superman story (which was also adapted to a JLU episode). But no relation to Darkseid. However, while Mongul is a huge threat in DC... Darkseid is *the* threat. Darkseid is the ultimate evil of DC. Darkseid was the original of this type, he was created in 1970, and Thanos was created in 1973. Famously when it comes to Thanos' creation, Thanos was created because a Marvel editor stated "we need a Darkseid". Thanos is probably the most popular ripoff villain due to the MCU. Other option would be Deadpool, who was a ripoff of Deathstroke at first (Slade Wilson = Wade Wilson) but made comedic.
Anyway to sum up; no relation between Mongul and Darkseid, both are just jacked alien big bads in DC, however while Mongul is a bid bad, Darkseid is *the* big bad. Darkseid was first in 1970, then Thanos in 1973, then Mongul in 1980.

I thought this was more common knowledge, but with brain tumors (including other types of cancers that metastasize to the brain), can come personality changes--similar sometimes to the shockingly out-of-the-blue personality changes of dementia. It makes already difficult medical situations even worse. It's hard to watch but I'm grateful to Buffy for the authenticity.
