2023-09-24 17:05:44 +0000 UTC@Shawn Brink, what are you on about? Try to pronounce ache or anchor with a "sh" sound in English speaking countrys and you would be looked on as weird. Literally... if you went to an ER in the US and said you "ache" using "sh", they wouldn't know what you're talking about. In real life the "ch" structure in english words sounds like a "sh", "k", and hard "ch" depending on the word.

2023-09-24 13:02:41 +0000 UTCAs Loco Logic correctly pointed out, there are in fact many words in the English language where the "ch" sounds like a K including one of the most common western names in civilization. Included on the list of words, which are spelled with a "ch", that have a K sound are Michael, chaos, school, chemistry, monarch, architect, and echo. Words in the English language having "ch" sounding like "k" or "sh" is just another example where English is weird and not the easiest language to master. @Camila Martinez is right.... the English language makes no sense. EDIT: btw there's words like "bachelor" and "batch" that don't have a "k" or "sh" sound to the "ch".

Not trying to criticize how people speak, I myself have some trouble sometimes when reading the manga. In American public schools we’re taught about digraphs in around kindergarten or first grade if I recall correctly. But the English language is hard and makes no sense so I can understand how it might be hard to understand all the nuances of the English language :)

Assumptions about the English language are just guesses. "Could have gone either way" refers to something with around a 50/50 chance. Using your own logic assuming on a 50/50 shot is not reasonable. It is easy to see when someone is post hoc justifying another's behavior. There is little logic behind it. Even the mildest correction or criticism and people will defend their idol's like the 2002 Bucs.

Also in the english language there's something called a digraph where a combination of 2 letters represents one sound, so "ch" together they always make the same sound. So Marketa and Navi were saying Teech's name like "teek" it's actually like "teach" same with any word that has "ch" such as "CHat" "CHapter" sandwiCH" "lunCH"! Just thought this might be helpful information :)

At this point the Empire sees itself as the empire, any musings of the Republic are gone, and Kallus is an ISB agent who has served his government dutifully but is now seeing that his government has not and will not return the sentiment of that loyalty.
