Not "Kinda", but flow blown so.

Cory Garron

I don’t see it that way, but have a nice day though!!!

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Damn right Spike’s assertion was incorrect! Jacey forever!!

Flora Smith

I don’t think it’s conscious on her part, tbh. She enjoys the companionship, the sex and is generally content but she’s also been coasting - she’s not seemed emotionally connected to him at all this season (at least not until now when his illness scared her) . I absolutely understand why Riley is insecure. However, he 💯 needs to get some kind of life of his own outside the relationship. His whole world right now is just her and her friends and even if they were doing well, that’s still super unhealthy.

Flora Smith

Writing anything that requires you to have seen more episodes than where they're at is a spoiler. At least admit that you just care more about hearing yourself speak than the integrity of the reactions.

Pajander

Imma need ya'll to apologize to rana.

King Medjai

It begins because Spikes dream has allowed him to realize that their relationship means something more to him. It’s controversial because he literally has spent this entire show so far trying to kill her and beating her up. Plus the age thing. All I said is some like it and some don’t, and that I personally flip flop, that’s not a spoiler, have a nice day!!!!

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

So it's been in the show a while but it's also "so it begins"? Calling it controversial (when nothing controversial has happened yet)? Those are very leading statements. There's really only one way to read your comment.

K Murray

But here's the thing, if she doesn't love him, it comes across as really selfish on her end. Is she using him as a placeholder? Does she keep hin around simply because he makes her feel "comfortable"?... And again, from Riley's perspective, he risked so much to be with Buffy, his career, his life, lost his friends. He seems very voted to the relationship, only to realize that he did all of that to be with someone who doesn't even love him back and he realizes it almost a year into the relationship. And he stays because in his mind, everything he did would have been for nothing... It honestly just bothers me when fans make it all about him being insecure about Buffy's strength way than that because I don't even think it's about HER strength, but about he feel she doesn't priotize him due to his... Gotta wait to not spoil lol...

Ash Lee Can

First off I never said I didn’t care, I was asking because to me I don’t see how I spoiled anything considering said relationship has been in the show for some time now. If it comes off as a spoiler to some other people I wanted to know because it doesn’t to me but I didn’t want to spoil anything so I was legit curious.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

At this point y'all really don't care about spoiling shit for them and it annoys the hell outta me. Some of the Normies do in fact read the comments. How about we keep the spoilers to a minimum. Buffy is legit the best show they're reacting to.

Bastion33

Oh no I definitely 100% agree that it’s significant, agree they wouldn’t offscreen such a thing I just don’t think she should be required to say I love you in a relationship, especially if she doesn’t love him in a binary way like that (she also has personal hang ups with romantic love that make saying things like that difficult for her to discuss) But totally agree that the moment was there for her to say it Don’t want to spoil either

space colon

TBH it could go either way because to me their relationship had already been established wayyy before this, I call this the beginning because of Spikes dream and him realizing it’s more than just hate he feels for her, so when I say they are complicated I’m taking everything up to this point into account if that makes sense.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Isn't this kind of spoilery?

Davey

My point was have we EVER heard Buffy tell Riley she loves him? We've may have heard her say it to other people in regards to Riley, but I don't think we've heard her tell HIM. We've heard Riley say it. Again, like in this episode, she says, "I NEED you". You SHOULD tell your loved ones that you love them, but I don't we've heard her tell him like once, whereas n we heard her say it to Angel multiple times. I think that's significant considering I don't think the show would have her saying that be an off-screen thing. I won't say more, but I don't want to spoil anything, but that's mainly what I wanted to point out in this instance...

Ash Lee Can

I can’t speak for the couch but I don’t think we’re supposed to believe for sure that Buffy loves Riley. I don’t think she’s done anything wrong, he’s the one who continues to not communicate with her and her not saying I love you doesn’t justify his behavior (not saying that you’re saying it does). I also don’t think she’s dancing around it, she’s not shown to be consciously avoiding saying “I love you” I don’t believe you should be required to tell someone you don’t love them when it’s not that binary, she isn’t supposed to be able to read his mind Appreciate you laying out the relationship parallels and the ways they’re depicted on screen! Season 3 had a great rotating camera shot showing how Buffy and Scott were behaving differently toward one another than Willow and Oz

space colon

I don’t think she has to tell him though, she hasn’t done anything wrong He hasn’t been communicating with her, he can’t act like his behavior is somehow justified because she doesn’t love him It’s not on her what he chose to do (Edit: Took your comment as saying she was in the wrong, my bad!)

space colon

Feels so validating to see the Riley discussion talked about in this way!Appreciate you for saying everything I wanted to say and more! It really frustrates me that the show sometimes frames it like Buffy is in the wrong in some ways when she isn’t or that her actions justify Riley’s behavior w

space colon

Episode 7s for most of the seasons are too good… am with you though, this upcoming one is maybe my favorite in the show😩

space colon

And so it begins..... The most twisted, controversial, complex, and all around just layered relationships in the entire Buffyverse. Some people love it, Some people hate it. There's cases to be made of either stance TBH, I myself flip flop between loving and hating it, but no one can deny that it is one of the most memorable parts of Buffy. Having Buffy make a remark about if she wanted to just be with a guy who was strong, she would be dating Spike, and then in the very same episode have Spike have a dream about her???!!! The writers were NOT slick with that one.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

There’s also a weird Halloween Resurrection, Dawson’s creek thing where Daisy McCrackin was one of the stars of Halloween Resurrection with bianca kajlich, who played Dawsons gf in season 6 of Dawson’s creek

Ray D

The girl that played Bethany, Daisy McCrackin was actually kidnapped a couple of years ago in what is a wild story. Look it up if your interested. And she was one of the stars of Halloween Resurrection with Busta Rhymes.

Ray D

Busta is in the same movie as the girl that played Bethany in this episode Daisy McCrackin. And in a weird coincidence, the main guy from Save the Last Dance is also in that movie. It’s Halloween Resurrection

Ray D

Wooo - Buffy Thursday - and woo it’s a fun Riley episode lol not really it was very tense and the beginning of a dark twist of a relationship of which I can’t decide whether I hate or love… spike has done amazing things and horrible things and his origins make sense to his feelings but still wierd cuase many people like spike more than angel but angel is on his own now so idk it’s just crazy ride and exactly what I signed up for lol And Woo for another fun exciting young justice episode - this one was so anime with a big anime brutal fight

Ricardo Obregon

Depends on if they pick it its just easier for them to see the comments/questions for sunday rundown

All Mighty Lowercase Jay

When you add the hashtag for SundayRundown, does it get discussed by the Normies in their podcast?

Esther Boogie

Same. Worth the wait. They are not ready.

Esther Boogie

I'm basically bouncing off the walls until they get to Buffy 5x7. It's the best episode seven that ever episode sevend. ...though 6x7 also episode sevend pretty hard. :) Also, their collective freakout at the end of this episode was hilarious.

Esther Boogie

So without spoiling anything, to give you an idea of the Beetles power level, they were designed to fight against Green Lanterns, who weird the most powerful weapons in the galaxy, and actually put up a pretty good fight. Thats also why, similar to the Lanterns they can create almost any weapon

Loki

One of the best reactions to that ending scene in Buffy that I’ve seen 🤣

Mo

#SundayRundown #Buffy Reily is a bit insecure but at the same time you have to remember we as the audience are suppose to be on Buffy's side as she is the Lead Character and the Story is being told from her viewpoint. In the show there are actually a lot nuances to the character that get overlooked and may not even be pick up on until after viewing the whole series again a few times. Buffy's flaws are pointed out time to time but its done by an unreliable narrator. People like Faith and Spike whom both have been shown to be pretty perceptive have called buffy out but it gets dismissed as "They're the Villians". Keep this in mind we as the audience have not heard or seen Buffy say she loves Riely yet we assume she does/has. As an audience we feel that Reily should innately know how Buffy feels about him but we ignore Buffy dancing around it or simply implying that she does without actually having to saying it. Also if you draw parellels from the other relationships (Tera & Willow, Xander & Anya) in which the character are "in love" you can see Buffy and Reily are depicted "different". Remember this is a visual medium if its not shown or discussed on screen did it really happen?

All Mighty Lowercase Jay

Such a great episode of Young Justice! The show's use of narrative subterfuge is amazing. Have had friends try to guess what direction any season of YJ was going to go, and Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti never cease to turn the plot on it's head at any given moment. In regards to Wonder Girl's punishment at the hands of Black Beetle, really wouldn't worry about it. While Conner might be considerably harder to kill or severely injure as a Kryptonian, Wonder Girl's heritage makes her a tough nut to crack. Her Curator/Archaeologist mother; Helena Sandsmark - was romanced by a mysterious red-bearded gentleman in the past who later turned out to be the god known as Zeus. This makes her a demigod, and extremally durable and strong. We did get an introduction to Stephanie Brown in this episode, she was the blonde who questioned Batgirl/Robin/Bumblebee dropping down into their cage at the Star City docks. Of course, quickly realizing they were there to help and kept quiet to maintain their cover. Did you all recognize the teenager that was trying to help-out in the battle by brandishing a laser rifle? He had the blue/black/yellow street clothes color scheme. Cannot wait for that acorn to drop. :) Great review as always folks!

Chris

I'll add onto Chris' rule about jumping someone with 10 other guys. If you're about to jump someone with 10 other guys, and suddenly one of your friends starts talking like a cartoon bully ("Well well well, look what we have here? A little birdie took a wrong turn heh heh heh." ), it's probably best you leave. You've just wandered into a beatdown you've got no chance of winning.

Miss Martian finding out about Aqua Lad and Artemis had me screaming out "no! But yes!" 😭

#SundayRundown So this episode of Young Justice is another *insanely good* episode of the show, and a perfect conclusion to what last week set up ("Darkest" and "Before the Dawn" are an excellent two parter). However, what I think this episode does incredibly well, is really solidifying one of the major themes/concepts of the show, "unintended consequences", and how all of our characters actions through the shows, or inactions, truly matter, and right here, in the midpoint of season 2, the season where the show grows up and gets mature, is the tipping point/boiling point along with last episodes huge events. The biggest unintended consequences for me are, at least in how I read them, M'gann's insane power levels, and how she would often use her powers in irresponsible or even dangerous ways in season one (she brain blasts Psimon in season one in a reactionary way and no one was mad then, and used shapeshifting and telepathy so often in ways that could push some boundaries but it didn't seem so bad), but she seemed innocent then, but now, as she grows up, using those powers in irresponsible ways, and believing she is right to use them that way, and her own alienation of Conner... leads to everything that happens in this episode with Kaldur. On the opposite end of that with Kaldur, Dick being the leader and his leading style have unintended consequences.Dick had said in season one he didn't want to be *the* Batman anymore, and he realized he wasn't ready to lead yet because he was set in his ways with Batman still. And now, with Dick and Kaldur's plan, Dick has become the leader, and he still had not fully worked through that yet, look at how he leads, with secrecy and deception, and while his methods can be effective, he is leading like Batman, he is not leading like Nightwing. This is an important part of his story, and his and Kaldur's plan, here is the unintended consequences of lies and deceptions, they send Kaldur right to M'gann, while M'gann was going through all her own irresponsible power usage... and *boom*, it all crashes together. Two seasons, 36 episodes, character developments and unintended consequences, comes to a head, Dick, Kaldur and M'gann's stories collide and the consequences are felt.

Riley Wigmore

#SundayRundown Young Justice - Ted Kord wasn't in season 1 so don't worry guys you didn't miss anything, season 2 was the first mention of his character in Young Justice. Also I want to point out how Artemis is kind of the MVP for saving Kaldur, keeping her cover, prevented Beast Boy from messing up the plan, and not hurting anyone. Artemis kept her cool.

Frankie H

Yeah true that

Brandon Gibbs

LL was also in Deep Blue Sea i know its not halloween movie, but horror genre hes pretty funny in it too.

#Sunday Rundown What a great episode of Young Justice! I love how much of the season has built to this moment. The storylines with Impulse and Blue Beetle, the mystery of the Light’s partner, Kaldur’s double agent act, and the way M’Gann had been misusing her power. Not to mention even smaller aspects like the character of G Gordon Godfrey: all of it has an important impact on the story. So, my question is - if you thought at this point, like M’Gann did, that Kaldur had killed Artemis, do you think you’d have a different reaction to what she does to him here? Would you have cheered her on at first before the truth was revealed? I think the way it’s written now is very well done, and we are meant to be upset with her, but I do always wonder if people would have initially supported her actions if they still thought he had killed Artemis. I also love it as a callback/continuation of what we saw in the “Failsafe” episode in s1 when they did the training exercise inside their minds. There, upon the ‘death’ of Artemis, M’Gann reacted so strongly that she unwittingly took complete control over the situation, making everyone believe it was all real. Now we again see M’Gann’s strong reaction to the ‘death’ of Artemis causes the situation to spin completely out of control. Though, I think it could be argued that the choice to keep her out of the loop puts some of the fault with Nightwing as well. Can’t wait to see your reactions to the rest of the season/show, there are lots of great moments to come.

cosmotron

Yes LL cool J and Busta Rhymes played in a Halloween movie. I know LL played a Security guard in Halloween H20 and Busta was a film maker Halloween 7 I think 🤔

The Answer

Someone remind Chris that the black and white clip in the opening credits has already happened.

Vicky N

alex mack reference in 2023????? i see you two. #nickkids

rickie woodson

ben in buffy. black beetle in young justice. good thursday

rickie woodson

#SundayRundown - what a episode, fun trivia, this was originally going to be the season finale but the network gave them an extra 10 episodes for this arc. The fight between Blue & Black Beetle was awesome and I’m glad you guys enjoyed it as well. The flashback to showing how Jaime got the scarab was nice & It made me want to see you guys react to the BB movie even more. It gets released digitally on the 26th so I hope we can get a reaction whenever you guys can soon! 🪲

Kuro

Some of his insecurities might also stem from being betrayed by the government he trusted in and signed his life to protect. He's going through some PTSD stuff as well.

Chaos T

Tim Curry's voice acting is amazing in the role.

Chaos T

another day of "im confused why yall are confused" lol i got what pat was saying right away and yall couldnt get it after 5 times??????????? BRUH! pat believes that if you care about someone, out of compassion you will tell them what they want to hear not the thing that would hurt their feelings. take the relationship element out of it. you know your brother is big ole dummy, stayed back in school 3 years in a row but if he asked you "do you think im smart" you would say yes to spare his feelings and stroke his fragile ego. pat is just saying its the same here. even IF buffy didnt love riley (that is what pat is saying not that buffy DOESNT love him only IF) she wouldnt say it cause she doesnt want to hurt him. and you can be in a relationship with someone and not be in love with them. all my exes broke up with me cause they were not in love with me and were man enough to say it just not honorable enough to say it before they cheated. "im not in love with you anymore" "i like you but i dont love you" "you're cool but im not "feeling it" "i only love you like a friend" etc etc i heard it all. so in a world where buffy is just having fun (hey the sex is good from the way she is acting, he's a good guy, cute and they get along) and riley is thinking about marriage: to spare his feelings and keep him by her side, she cant say "i dont love you". heck, they have done this in sitcoms. friends: ross: i love you, mona: and i love being with you. not in love but in a relationship. BOOP! stop making my boy to look like a nut case lol he is REAL and RAW thats why i love him. plus his smile ;)

rickie woodson

Two Dawson's Creek references in these Buffy'verse episodes. First Spike's incorrect assertion to Pacy that she (Joey) will never love him, and then the actor who played Joey's deadbeat father shows up to play Bethany's father. Buffy really should have killed Spike a long ago. If he ever gets that chip out he's going to be a huge problem. We know he's already killed TWO Slayers (during the Boxer Rebellion and in NYC in the 70s according to Giles back in 'School Hard'). There's no way she doesn't eliminate that high-level potential threat before it has a chance to reemerge. She should probably kill Angel too, for the same reasons.

Cory Garron

He's just a damn fool knocking down and supporting the wrong things.

Brandon Gibbs

Chris: "I don't remember which side I was on"...we remember!

NJM

Thank you for including some of the zany humour from the Angel streams. It is much appreciated.

Courtney Scott

I love the last part of this angel ep, the awful father asking for help and angel being like . . Nope and making it clear she could kill him and he wouldn't care. Gotta love angel's merciless Side. Also, that reaction to the spuffy "kiss", was the best reaction from you guys so far 😂

ray s

Yall's response to spike and buffy was top tier reaction material lmao Also I agree wholeheartedly with your comments re Riley's insecurities. It's understandable that he has them, he's told buffy he loves her quite a few times over the last few episodes and she has not said it back. For someone in his insecure state, that's probably eating at him/weighing on him even more, BUT he should vocalize that to her as Suraj said. Buffy may not love him OR she may just have a different love language. Either way, he should talk to her and not assume.

mary smith

Yup. One of my favorite DC series’

Zee

Buffy gave Riley that whole speech, and not once did she tell him she loved him. She said, "I need you". I'm not even sure we've ever heard her say it honestly (I feel a moment like that wouldn't be an offscreen thing). She didn't even sau it when he said his reassuring monologue to her in the previous episode. It's understandable that Riley would think Buffy doesn't love him. I'm not sure she's ever even told him, whether she does or not...

Ash Lee Can

G Godfrey is hilarious

Zee

They really do pack a lot of things into many of these episodes. Very tight writing.

Chaos T

Chris almost took off his shirt haha

Chaos T

I think they might of missed one of the most savage lines in the series. Black Beetle " I'll put can you halfway through the door too. Halfway the the hard way". Then processed to hammer Wonder Girl into the door repeatedly. Black Beetle is straight gutter bro.

Rickey66

"Friendship" ended with Harmony. Relationship status changed to "It's complicated."

Trevor

I had to replay the reaction to Buffy and Spike kissing. That was hilarious.

Chaos T

That was some rescue episode of YJ S2 wasn't it? First of all meet THE REACH!!! The so called partner of the light as you've been hearing about. Second turns out Blue Beetle caused a reach apocalypse in Impulse's future and that's why he came to the present, to prevent it somehow. Third yep it happened, once Miss Martian found Aqualad she brain blasted him in revenge thinking he really did kill Artemis and now he's a vegetable and she's in a traumatized state after what she just found out. See that's what happens when you don't let your allies know what's going on or your plans, things like that happen. Also Shimmer was pretending to be a captive all along because obviously The Reach knew they were coming and were prepared, that's why Black Beetle helped her at the end. And last, right after the rescue mission The Reach went straight to the UN to gain a big advantage against the heroes and of course that goddamn G Godfrey blindly supported them and those you saw underwater were the reach's hidden invasion force. Well I know y'all can't wait to see what happens next!

Brandon Gibbs

I know right. One of the best end scene reactions. Lol

Alison

And Pat literally jumping into the air

Ashleep

#SundayRundown - I’m glad to see you guys enjoy episode 10 just as much as I and others have. So many things happening at once in this one episode. The Battle Of the Beetles, the invasion of the Reach, M’Gann & Kaldurr, learning more about Jaime & how he relates to Impluse’s future. I also liked how Barbara/Batgirl took the lead throughout much of the mission and was the last one standing against Black Beetle. Shows that Batman trained his people well lol. It’s all so good. It’s the reason people say, as far as the animated tv & movies, DC kills it and gets praise. Season 2 is such a good season & I can’t wait for you guys to continue your DC journey through the series!

Zee

Really, the only thing turning paying Gunn into a debate is Wesley. Cordelia's the one pushing for it and Angel probably only dithered about it because he's exhausted. Insomnia is a motherfucker. If I've only slept five hours in the last three days, I can get paralysed over the easiest of choices. I don't know what Wesley's thinking beyond "he probably grew up rich and even after developing out of being a comic relief upper-class idiot, he still doesn't understand the realities of poverty."

Holy Stregas

Loved you guys reaction to YJ 🔥

Zee

Begun the Spike mental gymnastics has

CWall

Oh this might be my favourite reaction to that Buffy and Spike scene that I've ever seen, it's truly out of nowhere but Spike's realisation at the end is fun

Callie

Everyone’s face and especially Marketa’s when Buffy and Spike were kissing. 😂😂😂😂

Alison

"Who are you?"

Jontor11

Okay, all good now. Not sure what was going on there.

Ian Vega

lol the Young Justice episode titles are always wrong on here. Oh well, still a great episode.

cosmotron

Is anyone having trouble loading the young justice video? I'm not sure why, but it seems to be perpetually buffering at the very beginning and not playing. Buffy seems to work just fine. Is it just my internet or phone being weird?
