In this episode, it shows Charlie having a lot of talent and it makes me wonder what he could have been if Charlie didn't have the horrible corrupting influence of the "friends" around him.

In future seasons they always make it a point to have someone in the group say “you shouldn’t say that” to make it clear it is the awful characters using hateful speech rather than the creators of the show
