2023-09-07 01:05:02 +0000 UTCThis is actually another perfect Dragon Ball parallel, Shinigamis and their Zanpakuto are like Saiyajins and their forms while Arrancars and their zanpakutos are like Furizas race and their forms Shikai and Bankai are evolutions of the zanpakuto like Goku going supersaiyajin And Resurrección (Arrancars release) is resurrecting, turning the arrancar back into their previous hollow true form, like Furiza going backwards in his forms.

2023-09-07 00:09:33 +0000 UTCCOOL LITTLE DETAIL IN "BLEACH" EPISODE 118 When Ikkaku is in the air with his back to Edrad, and Edrad is anticipating a sword attack from the left, the way Ikkaku turns in the air, as he attacks with his sheath, perfectly mirrors the way Renji turns in the air to slash Ichigo in their first battle back in episode 16. If you remember this detail at this point, then this is basically foreshadowing for the next episode, where you find out that Ikkaku, indeed, trained Renji. - By the way, I don't know if this is just head-canon, since I don't recall this being explicitly stated, but the way I've always justified the extreme blood-loss to myself at least is that, since everyone has soul bodies, the blood being spilled is more of a representation of damage rather than actual life-threatening exsanguination. Big blood = big damage, little blood = little damage, but it's how the damage is applied, and how resistant the person is to damage, that determines whether it's fatal or not. 🤷🏽♂️

It's not explained very well initially; ESPECIALLY when Hitsugaya gets through saying "Vasto Lordes are human sized, and if there are 10 of them, we're f---ed.", then it immediately cuts to a bunch of human-sized arrancar, with Aizen saying "Tell your 20 brethren what you saw." Like, what are we supposed to think?! 😆 EDIT: I didn't realize you guys were JUST talking about this already. My bad.

2023-09-06 21:41:53 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown - Not every Arrancar is a Vasto Lorde. Arrancar is just a hollow who has torn their mask off and become a bit more human looking by doing so. For an Arrancar to be a Vasto Lorde, they would have to have been one BEFORE they became an Arrancar (i.e. torn their mask off). If you were a Adjuchas before becoming an Arrancar, you still are one afterwards too. And same with a Gillian. So the Arrancar can be varying in strength (Di Roy for example was one shot by Rukia - clearly not a Vasto Lorde level Arrancar), it'll become clearer throughout this arc which ones are Vasto Lorde and which one aren't. I don't entirely blame you for thinking they're all Vasto Lordes though. It was said that they were humanoid looking and all Arrancar are also humanoid looking (that's just what happens when they tear off their masks), but still - not all Arrancars are Vasto Lordes. Vasto Lordes are hollows that looked humanoid even before they tore their masks off.

Edarad, the Arrancar the Ikakku was fighting, in the manga notes that the more energy his Bankai outputs the more fragile Ikakku's blades become. Odd thing that I'm curious if they just didn't add or maybe it was actually a wonky translation I read.

2023-09-06 20:28:01 +0000 UTCThe forms that we see these Arrancar take are called their Ressurectiones and it’s essentially their version of a Shikai I’d say. They become what they actually look like while with Soul Reapers, since their Zanpakuto has a whole spirit and personality of its own, they differ. Although the Zanpakuto usually compliments the traits/characteristics in some way or another. Like how Hozukimaru needs to fight or get hit in order to wake up, and Ikkaku is perfectly fine with fighting or getting hit.

I didn't sleep that entire night and cried for the first time in almost 7 years, though it truly took me almost a decade to fully understand why it hit me that hard... I seriously can't wait to hear your thoughts on The End of Evangelion, it's my favorite anime movie of all time and has alot to unpack as well

A Resurreccion is their version of a bankai and they receive a boost in power and their bodies change to a form identical to their Hollow form before they became an Arrancar.

An arrancar can be any hollow that has teared their mask off to gain soul reaper powers. Aizen simply improved them with the hogyoku. Any arrancar would look more human than they did when they were a hollow. Vasto Lordes are hollows and they would be more powerful when they become an arrancar than an ordinary hollow would if the became an arrancar
