Lol see ignored everything and just doubled down on your dumb incorrect stance. You really deserve all the shit you're gonna get. Nobody ever said north korea was a utopia and there were only falsehoods coming from defectors you moron. This was already established but you're gonna keep trying to brute force past this. You're really stupid.

I get why you might be confused at my original comment because I thought you could put two and two together. For every Yeonmi Park who tells falsehoods, there's many more telling similar horror stories that aren't lying. The media horror story's are pretty accurate. Try doing better research.

>My response last wasn't about you (shock horror)
Yeah it absolutely was and you're backtracking because you got called out on it. Every other bullshit you're talking about right now is just that. You don't even have original context and you're still doubling down on your misconstrued framework. It wasn't contextualize as being a western propaganda issue, it's about western propaganda's existence in addition to failed-states existing. It's telling you're still are doubling down on this when it's already been debunked.
And the mental gymnastics is hilarious. I'm at peace with my anger issues and typing comments on a channel is pretty low effort so I'm good buddy. It's a nice outlet for me. If you thought that was some sort of gotcha then lol. We're both arguing on a pateron fucking react channel and you're acting like you didn't also type out paragraphs when called out on your dumb initial comment.
I think you should be more concerned with your cognitive dissonance.

My last response wasn't about you (shock horror); it was about Micky's opinion. It was contextualized as being a Western propaganda issue; which you went on a diatribe about in your original statement and got called out for. The NK human rights atrocities is one of the worst cases to go into the problem with Western media propaganda because the horror story's are published everywhere and pushed in non-western media. Some famous escapees might exaggerate for fame or political reasons and they should be exposed (which Western media has done in Park's case). However the horror stories from NK aren't far off from the truth that's being reported by everyone worldwide.
Sometimes a duck is a duck.
By the way, there's mental health services and medicine you can take for your anger issues.

I responded to you when I was having dinner last night and don't care to debate you further on the issue. I like Mickey especially during office and eva reactions, but they do raise valid points. He is a little annoying in rebels reactions. He always talks over dialogue saying "they shouldve done this" or "why didn't they do this?". Then it.happens or.gets explained the scene after. Also the number of likes in the comment speak for themselves.

So fun fact about this episode. Kanan mentions a battle he fought in where the protectors saved him, which was detailed in a sort of prequel comic series called Kanan. The issue in question actually came out the say this episode aired. So just a fun callback to the people reading the comics at the time.

Lol so all I’m seeing here is that you were intially oversensitive and kneejerk responded to a comment and decided it was flippant because I pointed out nuanced fucking thinking and you also assumed a certain framework to my comment without actually knowing what was going on.
And btw “the only way you don’t know that is if you live under a rock”
PLENTY OF PEOPLE DO IN FACT LIVE UNDER ROCKS. We literally have flatearthers and moonlanding deniers, buddy. There’s literally another react channel i follow that has them. Plenty of people in real life and on platforms such as reddit and youtube do actually think there isn’t western propoganda. You’re either only ever on your computer or you have a small social circle if you don’t think they exist. I’ve actually been to multiple countries and in the states, have been around conservative and liberal circles. Some people do in fact think there isn’t western propoganda.
You pointed out Ashleeps comment? Why don’t you read the fucking response *right under* it where I gave out *specific* examples of what I meant and made clear I wasn’t actually downplaying atrocities and the state of the countries. Literally every misconception I pointed out there WAS SOMETHING IVE HEARD IN REAL LIFE and I know happens to be incorrect and did in fact affect people’s perception of the people living there and others of shared ethnicity.
“North Korea is internationally recognized as one of the worst human rights violators”
Omg wow, no shit huh? Were you actually under the impression that I didn’t know that? You think this was not anymore obvious than the fact that there is western propoganda?
The context of the video and the part of the discussion I was responding already had an assumed framework of “North Korea sucks to live in” that’s why over sensationalized accounts were brought up and it’s also why propaganda was brought up. So there’s an actual objective discussion and insights being added.
“However, her exaggeration doesn’t discount the extreme claims from other people”
No shit. And that wasn’t the point of bringing her up, besides the fact again, i was expanding on what Mickey brought up in the first place, pointing out false and exaggerated narratives from these types of people *is* actually important. Washington post, who actually had her write an article for them before came out and stated: “They worry that Park’s inconsistencies and flawed accounts will make the world start to doubt their stories.". This is like calling out people who provide false rape claims. It hurts the credibility and perception of real ones and gives fodder for opponents to use. It doesn’t become “omg you called out a fake rape victim, now real rape victims don’t exist”. Which is seemly the framework you’re operating in.

" There’s people who think china is so racist towards black people that they can’t have any in their media and will spaz out if they see one one screen…except the nba is literally one of the biggest sports league in the country lol. Kind of a problem if you don’t want black people on your screens."
I found this funny because there were a lot of racists who like watching Bob Gibson pitch and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar play basketball. We see that today with the "shut up and play" crowd (not everyone who believes that is racist but there's a Venn diagram overlap). Black people being on TV doesn't stop racists from watching sports.

Honestly Mickey makes me want to stop watching the Rebels reactions. He just arrogantly criticizes everything and then blurts out wrong timeline info. Not to mention he gave Rana a hard time for crying last episode.
He drunkenly said Star Wars was “just okay” on the last Q&A so why does he keep reacting to it?

You stated: "And yeah, western propoganda is definitely a thing when it comes to hostile east asian countries. This isn’t to say there arent some truths to some claims and that there aren’t problems, but the exaggerations are there. This applies not just to north korea but china as well. There’s definitely a lot of memed narratives and misconceptions that people just parrot without actually knowing what’s going on."
Your flippant comment here is why some might view you out of touch on the North Korean issue (see the first response from Ashleep). Of course the media exaggerates and spews propaganda. The only way you don't know that is if you live under a rock. However, this is not just a "western propaganda" thing. North Korea is internationally recognized as one of the worst human rights violators on the planet. The international community came to this conclusion through decades of survivor story's; even before podcasts and the internet existed. There's more than just "some truths to some claims". Through international efforts, the extreme of how North Korea treats its people is well documented.
Yeomi Park's reason for being popular is because she has a liberal vs. conservative agenda behind her escape narrative so her extreme claims should be questioned. However, her exaggeration doesn't discount the extreme claims from other people that don't have a political agenda. Claims that North Korea citizens eat rats all the time shouldn't overshadow legitimate claims that we might view as outrageous; especially considering the number of famines NK have gone through.
As an example, here's a non-western source showing the claims of cannibalism from NK as credible:

And lol you say people aren’t confused yet shawn brink suggested washington post is pro north korean propoganda. Buddy, are you even able to read? Tell me what was the point i was trying to make because I sincerely don’t think you actually know. Your strawman comment suggests you just responded without actually grasping the point. Now seriously, lay it out. If I wasn’t saying north korea is a good place to live in what was my point?

Nobody here said you're a North Korean apologist; that's a you thing. The only thing people alluded to is your logic being silly and flawed. Everyone with a cogent thought in their body understands the point you're attempting to make.
People making up their own mind and not buying into propaganda is 1+1=2 stuff. It doesn't need to be explained.

I didn’t say north korea is a great place to live or wasn’t run by an oppressive dictatorship nor did I imply there was only one defector.

The point is that exaggeration paints an inaccurate perception for people and has no intellectual value nor is it productive and in fact can often times be used to dehumanize. No one is saying atrocities don’t happen lol. This applies to america as well. There’s literally people who think getting shot is a common thing in the country and won’t travel to it, ignoring that it’s very statistically unlikely and also no all of america is a monolith with the same gun laws or presence. There’s people who think china is so racist towards black people that they can’t have any in their media and will spaz out if they see one one screen…except the nba is literally one of the biggest sports league in the country lol. Kind of a problem if you don’t want black people on your screens. So on that note I wouldn’t be surprised at all to learn that north koreans don’t eat rats everyday. That’s the point being made.

The north korean defector i believe mickey is referring to is yeomi park. She’s been on joe rogan’s podcast and other media appearances. And yeah the veracity of her claims were doubted, by south korean journalists no less and apparently in 2023 washington post also came out and said a lot of her claims were exaggerated or fabricated. Really interesting if anyone wants to look into it.
And yeah, western propoganda is definitely a thing when it comes to hostile east asian countries. The A-wing star fighters that Hera’s squad was in are intercepter class Star fighter, they’re made for fighter to fighter combat. The A-wing is faster and more agile than the X-wing but lower armor and shields. I don’t know how expensive they are to make but with Bail Organa secretly supporting the rebels, they get a few ships here and there to replace them.
A lot of people already commented this but might as well. Sabina is Clan Wren of House Vizsla. Clan Wren is her family and blood (equivalent to the Uchiha clan from Naruto); House Vizsla is the over all group of Mandalorians made up of a bunch of clans, that normally take the name of the clan that formed and rules the house (equivalent to the Leaf Village from Naruto). Clan Vizsla formed a house and Clan Wren joined and became they’re allies. You guys will learn more about clan Wren and more about Sabina in the 2 later seasons.
