Sadly Arrancar Arc's anime adaptation is well, bad due to pacing and inclusion of filler characters in canon episode among many other errors/bad judgement by Perriot and Abe. Hope you guys still enjoy it

Yup Kubo also did an interview where he said that his biggest inspiration for writing his antagonist are the villains from dragon ball.

Time for som fun facts about Bleach! Shinji's design is one of the earliest and in the manga he can be seen in a drawing that Tite Kubo did of the school cast, however he couldn't find a place to insert him in the story so he kept the design in reserve for the visoreds. The reason that Ichigo has a 15 on his door is because his name kind of means 15. Ichi means 1 and Go means 5.(Technically 15 would be ju go but the pun/jokes still remains.) For a while Tite Kubo considered basing the important Arrancar on the seven deadly sins but eventually decided to not do so. However this can still be seen in some of the earlier Arrancar. Ulquiorra is sloth, always leaving everything to Yammy and considering fighting beneath him and a waste of time while Yammy is gluttony with him consuming however many hundreds of souls in his first appearance and his large stature. In the very first chapter he appeared in Ulquiorra had a different design, the general shape was the same but with noticeable differences. That design only lasted for a single panel in chapter 190 and in chapter 191 he had he second design which was used for the rest of his time in the manga. Just a funny little fact. Also if y'all have access to the manga I'd recommend checking out the chapters for these episodes and the next few. The art there is amazing in a way that an animated medium can't properly convey without going too weird for most animation studios.

"BLEACH" EP. 113 IS A SHOUTOUT TO TORIYAMA (DBZ CREATOR) Ulquiorra and Yammy's arrival in Karakura Town is an homage to Vegeta and Nappa's arrival to Earth in DBZ. Everything from the explosive entry, and the bystanders gathering around, to the big guy casually killing a whole bunch of 'em while the little guy watches. Each of the Big 3 creators have much admiration for Akira Toriyama, and Kubo had more reason than most to show him some love. Long story short, the original 1-shot manga of "BLEACH" (the "pilot" if you will) was rejected by Shonen Jump, and Kubo had gone through so much already (including mental health issues) that he decided to give up on manga all together...until Toriyama (who happened to read that 1-shot) sent him a letter, telling him his idea was brilliant, and that he should refine it and try again. He did so, and the rest is anime history. - Kon's blue cross was established in the after-credits shorts. He went through many adventures that messed up his body badly, so Ichigo took him to Ishida for repairs. Unbeknownst to Kon, Ishida (who always adds his own flare to his work) put a Quincy cross on the back of his head. These adventures with Don Kanonji are technically canon, 'cause they're based off of side chapters in the manga, where Kubo established what the side characters were getting up to while the main plot was happening.

#SundayRundown Clarification from last week: Just to clear up any confusion when Navi and Rana read my comment from last week “and now the best arc-specific ost begins” you assumed I was talking about the “op(opening)” which don’t get me wrong, fuckin slaps, but I was talking about the ost(original soundtrack) for this arc and how Shiro Sagisu(Bleach anime composer)incorporates Spanish music influence so well. Like the spanish guitar you hear so much in all of the background music songs that the Arrancars have become so synonymous with. When the Bleach anime was announced to be returning & Shiro Sagisu put so much of the Bleach anime Soundtracks on Spotify, so much of the ost was added to my playlist.
