This was the episode I meant was so depressing. Season 4 makes up for it lol. Love season 4 and psyched for Nocturne the sequel series to Castlevania..

Was I the only one that was horrified by how fucked up what Lenore did is, but also found it kinda really hot? 😅

Something cool is that Lenore and Alucard have the exact same story going on, but it creates two different feelings. Where we’re like “why would you betray Alucard, trust him” we’re also like “Hector if you trust Lenore your a dumbass” even though it’s the same premise of trust and truth. The difference is we know Alucard, not Lenore. Alucard’s pupils are doing exactly what we wanted Hector to do with Lenore, and we see how that turns out for them 💀. Maybe let’s cut Hector some slack 😂

For Castlevania, I think a lot of the storylines this season are all about trust. Both in other people and in more vague concepts. Trusting that something is the right thing to do, or placing your trust in someone you think will help you. All of the characters do this in one way or another this season, and we see the consequences of that. I think Taka and Sumi are actually quite interesting. They have essentially been living a very similar journey to Issac. Given no reason to trust others, hurt time and time again just when they think that maybe this time will be different. I've seen quite a few people look at Issac's scenes and say "well no wonder he doesn't trust other people", and the fact is that is the kind of life Taka and Sumi have been living as well. We know that they can trust Alucard. But from their perspective they have been burned too many times to take that chance...and the more enticing and persuasive and safe it seems to be, the more dangerous and fake it feels to them. It doesn't excuse what they did, but it very much ties into the themes of the story.
