I only made that comparison to put into perspective how small the margin of votes was and 9 isn't a "sizeable amount". Even in polling that would be considered margin of error. I rarely comment and usually just vote but I would love if "Monster" by Naoki Urasawa could be added to the list. It's a murder mystery with more adult themes. One of his other stories, "Pluto" is being adapted by Netflix and will be coming out later in the year. All of Monster is currently on Netflix. The animation quality isn't the greatest but the story is top notch.

"its old" that didnt stop them with neon genesis or bleach. there is also the updated version (sailor moon crystal) that came out in 2014 and is still ongoing (sailor stars is coming!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!). plus its shorter than most shonen anime at 200 eps not counting the movies which i think are only 3 (R, S, Super S). a true classic that the shonen bros need to learn to RESPEK!

Same. They never seem to get all of the “hype” seasonal anime. I remember the Tokyo Revengers S1 wave and most channels hopped on it. Same now with Hell’s Paradise, which is probably even stranger considering it’s part of the holy trinity and they’ve already done 2/3 (JJK and Chainsaw Man).

While Gurren Lagann is great I have fonder memories of Samurai Champloo. Plus given how much they enjoyed Cowboy Bebop I feel this is perfect for them. Second choice is Kaguya-sama. Love a good Rom-Com.

Ranking of Kings won't win in this group but it's one of the best new animes in years, in my opinion; it seems so light and whimsical at first but has a hard edge along with a lot of heart, and is also just very unique among the list. But I get why it won't win, a lot of really top tier options competing! I just hope eventually more reactors try it one day. Maybe better to wait until more seasons to binge, anyway! I suspect Champloo will win, and that's a worthy choice, though I admit I never finished it. Maybe this will be my excuse to rectify that!
