The full context there wasn't to say that that was a bad thing in itself, but that once you do admit doing wrong (accident or not) people (largely on the net) will use that admission to justify literally ANY shitty thing they say or do to you. As seen in Akane's case once she apologized people basically took it as a green light to trash her even harder.

If someone walks around with a wad of cash sticking out and someone steals it. They’re dumb but the thief still shouldn’t have done it. Andy is dumb but he still shouldn’t have been lied to and and dwight clearly bought it off of false pretenses which is why Andy had that reaction. You can’t blame the victim’s naïveté on their misfortune or that becomes a slippery slope.
