2023-05-25 14:57:18 +0000 UTCInteresting if that is the case but I still personally believe that the author has taken atleast some inspiration from what happened with Hana unto his work. As a fan of the JP wrestling scene and a reader of the manga, when I first read the chapters when it came out, that chapter was too similar and too recent to the incident that I thought and many others that it was based on what happened to Hana. Especially knowing that the author is always up to date or in tune with current trends and events in his works and how massive that incident was to the entertainment industry in JP. Also WTF is wrong with people dog piling on a grieving mother, it's like they completely miss the warnings and messages of the source material that they are defending.

2023-05-25 14:01:56 +0000 UTCThe author has made statements that contradict this idea that the Kimura Hana incident was the inspiration. Which you may, or may not find convincing. It may be a form of risk hedging to deny correlation since the incident only happened a few years ago (and only a few months after the suicide). In any case, the mother of Kimura Hana has publicly said she found the commercial use of her daughter's tragedy so soon distasteful. Anime fans, of course, having learnt nothing from the episode are now dogpiling on her (you know, the mother to a daughter who committed suicide) to defend their show.

2023-05-25 08:10:37 +0000 UTCSo about this episode of Oshi no Ko: This episode was based off of a real incident with a female wrestler who was cyber bullied in a reality tv show. The incident allowed the Japanese government to amend laws to crack down on online harassment. The law going from a minimum of less than 30 days detention time to 1 year in jail with a fine of 10k yen to now about 300k yen. The incident was that she got annoyed off of the guy she was dating ( a comedian) in the show when he ruined her wrestling outfit and knocked away the guy's cap. This seemingly inconsequential and understandable reaction from the wrestler poured in an insane amount of hate her way until finally she had enough and unlike the show Aqua wasn't present.

2023-05-24 19:36:05 +0000 UTCAs far as Japanese names go there are suffixes they add to words that basically make it a name, but I don't know if they maintain their base meaning at that point: maru - You looked this one up, no idea if it aplies in names suke - no idea on this one ko - This is the only one I think is female specific (at least I don't recall any guys name ending in ko and often in cross dressing gags guys will add or change ko to their name) jin - This term deals with people and implies personification so it often also conceptually translates as a god i.e Fuujin/Wind God, Raijin/Thunder God, Ryujin/Dragon God Zabimaru's name is actually pretty simple. Combination of: Za from Saru - Monkey (there are rules that make S and Z often interchangeable) bi from Hebi - Snake maru - as above Most names can be broken down this way but definitely all of the Zanpakuto names can be And the Shingami uniform is called a shihakusho
