These past two episodes are where Young Justice really sets the tone and shows the potential for the show. Revealing the depths that each character may experience. I loved all the different therapy sessions, revealing how the trauma affected them and weighed upon them different.

Also, I will make the case, there should be some double drops sometimes! Episodes 16 and 17 are often considered a "two-parter", it was weird to watch them separated by a week the last couple weeks, as I have never before (other than when it aired) watched 16 and 17 separately, I always watch them together. There are other two parters in the future of the show and I would definitely advocate for double drops during the two-parters!

Another great Young Justice reaction! Something I love about Young Justice that is shown in this episode, is just how deep into the DC lore the show gets, delving into the New Gods and Apokolips. In fact, I will say, after watching 4 seasons of Young Justice, you will have a full and complete understanding of the DC Universe. The show teaches you about the world of DC and the audience learns everything about this world. I would say, if you watch Young Justice, you have a better understanding of the DC Universe, than someone whose watched the whole MCU has an understanding of the Marvel Universe. Young Justice is a perfect adaptation of the DC Universe, through the perspective of the universes sidekicks, and perfectly shows their journey along with adapting the entire DC Universe. Episode 17 encapsulates that, showing their therapy and how they are growing and changing as characters, while also showing more lore of the DC Universe and teaching you about the New Gods and Apokolips.

Young Justice was awesome! I forgot the Forever People showed up this early :) also I laughed so hard at your guys' reaction to Infinity Man

Daniel R

Buffy and Angel are honestly one of the "Better" shows you guys are watching right now. It would honestly be in your guy's best interest to watch the shows in order. But, what do I know?

Bastion33

Xander v. Harmony with the slo-mo is one of my favorite underrated Buffy moments and I'm glad y'all laughed as hard as I did.

CandidCocoa

Light members are from top to bottom are Lex Luthor Vandal Savage Queen Bee The Brain Klarion Orm The Ocean Master Ra's Al Ghul so far as seen on screen people like Sportsmaster Black Manta are enforcers

BradBoimler

A list of the Light members who have been formally introduced (by name) so far: Lex Luther, Ra’s Al Ghul, The Brain, Klarion the Witch Boy, and Ocean Master (He was mentioned in the backstory in Downtime, the Atlantis episode, and had a non-speaking appearance in costume. If you’ve seen the Aquaman movie, you’ll know that you’ve also seen him out of costume). Unless I’ve forgotten one, the other members are still waiting to be introduced.

Chandler Buchanan

DOES HE KNOW ?

Chris K.

Please look into the “Slay Alive” guide for the best watching order. It will make things run more smoothly without any spoilers.

CWall

Moms know best

CWall

Let’s think about it shall we

CWall

I forgot how good this episode of Young Justice was episode 18 19 are really good episodes and episode 19 probably the best episode of the series Top 5 any way

BradBoimler

All about the New Genesis and Apokolips, the Forever People, Desaad, etc... are part of the Fourth World, created by Jack Kirby (who also worked for Marvel for a long time and created along side Stan Lee some of the most famous Marvel characters like The Fantastic 4, Thor, The Avengers and the X-men). So, this is a very important piece of DC mitholigy.

Roland The Gunslinger

Who's stronger, new or old?

Solebat

Wooo Buffy Thursday and finally continuing the arc with Spike return.... and finally reaching my second favorite episode or really side quest episode of Young justice this one with last weeks episode go Hand in hand,

Ricardo Obregon

Desaad, the bad guy in this episode was also in the Justice League movie. Steppenwolf was calling home and Desaad on the hologram is like, "You're not allowed to come home yet, conquer more planets for Darkseid!" So Desaad had a brief cameo in the movie.

Frankie H

This episode is exceptionally well structured/written! Balancing the deep talk with the comic book action keeps both kids and mature audiences engaged. Also watching for a second time the Kid's body language is very telling. Artemis - puts her legs up and crossed arms to put as much "space" between her and Canary Wally - In an unorthodox position to throw off any seriousness, when the convo turns to Artemis he sits up right then quickly tries to shake it off. Aqua Lad - Head down in shame Robin - Arms completely down between his legs, completely vulnerable. Reflecting his vulnerability when he fully opens up to Canary. Miss Martian - Sits very controlled/small, showing signs that she is still scared of herself. Not wanting to be herself, which then she changes to her human form. Superboy - Stares at his hands, his weapons. Reflecting his thought "Am I just a weapon?" So much detail and nuance in this show!! Double drops are needed hahaha

While Forrest ponders that maybe Buffy is Canadian, Mercedes McNabb (Harmony) is. Why does Suraj think everyone is J. August Richards "Guy from the first episode of Agents of SHIELD"? Does he think JAR is in Buffy or something?

Cory Garron

And there'll be a special guest on the couch for that episode...

Cory Garron

Not only will they be lose out, and be confused at times, but they'll actually get spoiled watching them out of the watch order.

Alexis Cardarella

apocalypse = person from marvel. apokolips = place from dc. and mickey is right: darkseid is the master, ruler of apokolips. surj is also right about something you will find out later on..........

rickie woodson

Riley Finn is from Iowa....

Chaos T

Well that's going to spoil things for them.. So.. that needs to be rectified soon. lol

Alexis Cardarella

and thus the jean grey-a-ning begins

rickie woodson

time for a double dose of young justice for me as i missed last week's ep

rickie woodson

I know you guys have been doing this reaction thing for ages, and you have tons of series running at the same time, so you aint like a typical reaction channel focusing on one or two series. But you really will lose something by not following a watch order for Buffy and Angel. Also Marketa will miss half of the Buffyverse storyline by missing out on Angel. But I understand you guys have a ton of shows to follow and wont necessarily be able to give special treatment to Buffy and Angel, but consider it if you can. Just FYI.

Jon Dub

riley is from the same century as me: the 90s! a good wholesome southern boy. we court, we dont date. thats for you big city fellas. and in our african american vernacular we say "cout". the R is silent like in stoe (store) lol. maybe thats why i dont like him. we are too similar, he just doesnt have my eccentric flare which stops me from being boring lol

rickie woodson

They don't follow a guide. They usually watch in two episode blocks.

Alicia

It's supposed to go: The Bachelor Party, Pangs, and then I will Remember You. Go by the Slay Alive Reactor watch guide if you aren't already.

Alexis Cardarella

As Quick A Breakdown as possible on some DC mythology: 18 Billion years ago, there was a planet called GodWorld, home to a race of beings called The Old Gods. 10 Billion years later, war broke out, Old Gods died & GodWorld’s destruction created the “Godwave”, a wave of energy that caused a bunch of worlds to be seeded with the potential to have Gods of their own, Earth being one of them. 4.8 Billion years later: Remains of GodWorld split into 2 planets- Apokolips and New Genesis: home to the New Gods(evil ones on Apokolips, good ones on New Genesis).

Reynaldo Urena

So it sounds like you guys watched Buffy and Angel out of order. 😬

Alexis Cardarella

Loved the Matrix references in Buffy. These are S tier episodes

Husk

Forget about buffy the vampire slayer we got giles the milf hunter

Poet

I like how everyone else on the squad is going through therapy, meanwhile superboy is having a wacky adventure with his pet wolf and he ends up piloting a mech made out of new gods from another planet lol

Jackie Gibson

Technically Tim is the best replacement if you needed someone to replace Bruce with a near identical Batman, he’s also Dicks picks for the best Robin. Dick is effectively the best version of Batman and Superman to the point that Dick is seen as the heart of the DC superhero community.

Overload

The next Angel episode is hands down my favourite out of the entire series

Overload

Disordered is an episode that shows why Young Justice is a truly special show. It really deals with the consequences of the last episode in a way it definitely didn't have to. The fact that the characters are so grounded is one of the show’s biggest strengths. The therapy parts of this episode are a good example of that. Even though they’re superheroes, they’re still only teenagers going through a lot of serious issues.

Blake

Interestingly, Both Doyle and Angel are half-demons who have had romances with humans that ended badly and in both cases they feel that it is the human part of themselves that needs to improve instead of blaming their demonic nature. Even Cordelia is having trouble getting over her history with Xander and the way it is influencing how she sees the world so everybody is struggling with their past selves.

Blake

Young Justice is a well written show!

Martin-ESP

Something they don't really make too clear in the DC Universe unless you're already a DC fan is the existence of old gods and new gods. The old gods consist of mostly Greek gods like Athena, Aries, and Zeus, but there are also the new gods, which are from the planets of New Genesis and Apocalypse, and one of the big bads of the DC Universe, who is basically the equivalent of Thanos is Darkseid the king of Apocalypse.

CodePhoenix13

The dive into the kids’ psyches is honestly a great plot B, I wish we got more of it. I also think it’s interesting how each member of the Team is representing a different stage of grief: Kid Falsh-Denial Superboy-Anger Aqualad-Bargaining Miss Martian-Depression Robin-Acceptance I don’t know what Artemis represents probably Denial as well. Also this Black Canary does have a degree in psychology but I think she’s more like a counselor. Her main day job is running a floral shop she owns with Green Arrow called Sherwood Florist.

TB

YJ: The Team going through therapy really does a great job at highlighting the characters inner conflicts. Except Wally who is still in denial LOL. My favourite bit is the contrast between Superboy and Robin. Robin found out what its like to be batman, and hated it! Superboy found out what its like to be superman, and it made him happy. Both feel guilty about it. PS. Superboy understood what it felt like to be superman because superman had died, and everyone was relying on him to be like superman.

Aadit Doshi

i love this stretch so much, comedy gold

Bisibia

Don't you think it's funny that Riley brushes off his friends implying that he like Buffy, a couple of times. But as soon as "mom" (Professor Walsh) says "I like her" he looks interested. It's almost like she gave him permission to be into Buffy. Weird dynamic but interesting.

Paul Mason

Robins statement of "I don't want to be THE batman" hits so hard and is very in character for dick Grayson, dick in the comics is the best replacement for Bruce as batman, but he's also the one who wants the mantle the least, everytime in comics he had to take up the cape and cowl, he hated it but did a fantastic job. Also the new gods lore is DEEP and iirc was originally created completely separate from dc but was eventually bought and brought into the dc lore

Unstablebeast

One of the best YJ episodes ever. Deep dive into each character and a look at mental health and trauma.

LookAtThatLlama

No worries on the later upload, thanks for the update!

bits

LOL I guess Chris was too shocked that Seth Green WASN'T in the credits to notice that James Marsters IS in them now.

indaeo

Chris is right. You can't just uninvite vampires, you have to do a spell. Remember they did it in S2, Passion when Angel turned bad?

Paul Mason

Yess YJ!

Luis Facundo

We are in to a good run of Buffy episodes. Almost every one this season is fire
