Huh? That shouldn't be happening. If you're paying $10 a month, you're in premium and have access to all Early Tier things as well. Make sure you're logged in, and if you are, try to log out and log back in, even try a different browser. Hope this gets resolved for ya!

I have the $10 Patreon package but it’s telling me I need to update my Patreon to $5 to watch this content? If I update to $5, do I need to update to $10 again after to keep premium?

Underrated gem of a movie. Youtuber Mista GG did a really good review of it.

Code Geass, and Eva are Shonen. They just use giant robots and deal with darker points (especially Eva), but the general concept of the hero's journey and/or comming of age is still very present

I haven't seen Oshi No Ko but from what I'm reading it sounds like the perfect time for The Normies to watch "Perfect Blue"

These categories actually only differentiate what kind of magazine the manga was published in. In Japan manga is released monthly by chapter in a magazine that is aimed at a specific demographic. Like shonen is published in a magazine that's targeted at preteen/teen boys. The same for shojo, just aimed at young girls. Seinen is targeted at young adult men. Oshi no Ko was published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump, a seinen magazine. Kaguya-sama Love is War is also a seinen manga. Many confuse these two as being shoujo but I am a shoujo connoisseur and could just tell just from the overall vibe lol. The "young woman" counterpart to this genre is called josei. Shojo and Josei are highly underrepresented each anime season or poorly animated :( it's so sad (for me specifically lol)

As a long time Kpop fan, the reality of shitty contracts, payment, deals, etc. is actually more common with small-medium sized companies and uncommon for the Big Agencies. Companies pre-debut invest a lot of money into training, housing and general care for the trainees. Once they debut as idols, all that investment is often debt for the individuals that is gradually paid off with their performance fees and music royalties. The smaller and newer companies/groups usually never become popular enough to be profitable. However, big agencies are financially well enough and they absolve their debts. Also small idols are interchangeable and expendable. But the top 1% of idols (the ones that sell millions) have much more vying power and are irreplaceable. These idols have money for lawyers and are often gifted incredible signing bonuses and negotiate much better pay shares.

Shonens are Bleech, AOT, Chainsawman, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, MY Hero, One Punch etc. But Code Geass, RE: Zero, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, fooly cooly, Parasyte, The Promised Neverland, and Neon Genesis Evangelion are also not shonens.... Shonens are tyrically young hero boy goes off on a adventure to save the day. The later group can be consider "Seinen" which are more complex mature shows but people more often refer to them by specific genre more often, Romance, comedy, Drama, Slice of life, Horror, psychological thriller, fantasy, sci fi etc. Some time you hear terms like mecha, isekai etc for specific themes. There's a feminine equative to shonens that's Shoujo. Sailor Moon is probably the most iconic Shoujo figure to the west as recognizable as Guku in Shonens. Some Shoujo are thus typically young hero girl goes off on a adventure to save the day. but most are romance from a female prospective like Fruits Basket. I do not know the genre for Oshi No Ko but it seems to be a mix of Slice of life and psychological thriller. Interestingly they creatively choose Ai and her children have "Shoujo eyes' but it's not a shoujo.

It's been hitting me lately that the 1st episode of Oshi feel more like a prequel movie that comes out after the series to answer questions. Kinda want to see how people take it starting from Episode 2. Also not all Anime themes are written specifically for the show. I think it was more common maybe 20 years ago that it was, but now that are are usually obvious like the Rumbling

The Normies

I haven't been a patreon in a while. So we can no longer see the full discussion for the uncut premium access videos? Don't tell me I have to wait weeks until it's released on early access or youtube :/

Wondering if I can get some help. I have the $10 tier but still have never been able to access the Uncuts from the site. it still states "Sorry,Because of its privacy settings, this video cannot be played here." I really want to keep being a member, but I only have access to the YouTube posts and anything on the site is closed off to me. I'm not sure what to do.
