2023-05-04 17:04:58 +0000 UTCYou're just wrong. There are entirely too many fights in Hueco Mundo that last for multiple episodes when they really didnt need to, and literally some of the longest fights in the whole show. Soul Society arc is infinitely tighter compared to Hueco Mundo

The drip is insane, plus he's chill. Fun fact: Though Chad is of Mexican descent, the tattoo on his shoulder reads "Amore e Morte," which means "Love and Death" in Italian.

2023-05-04 02:15:25 +0000 UTCI thought the pacing in the Hueco Mundo arc was way worse than this. I've honestly never really even heard anyone complain about the pacing of the Soul Society arc. There's some classic anime tropes that can be a bit annoying at times, sure, but this Arc is pretty much nonstop action.

2023-05-04 01:02:15 +0000 UTCYeah. This part of Bleach had some bad pacing issues. It gets better towards the end of the arc and after that I don't think it gets this bad again but...yeah. Other than that some fun stuff about Oscar Joaquín de la Rosa. Most of his scenes are anime original. It is just some quick monologuing by Chad about what happened and one panel of Oscar. I think this was honestly a very good addition to the story actually seeing young angry Chad and Oscar putting his body on the line. Other trivia includes that the coin is actually pretty valuable. It is a Republica Mexicana coin, from back in the 1800's. Those types of coins stopped being minted in 1905 when we switched to the Estados Unidos Mexicanos that is on modern day pesos. It's in very good condition and could probably sell to a collector for some decent change.

2023-05-03 17:31:25 +0000 UTCWhen the gap in Reiatsu (spiritual pressure) is too large, the weaker fighter has zero chance. A really cool aspect of Bleach's combat system is that Reiatsu is sense-able, but also can paralyze a much weaker character. The gap between even captain level reiatsu (Renji had this) and Zaraki's is insane. edit: As we saw with fights with Ikkaku and Renji (Ichigo's resolve increased his Reiatsu) better reiatsu increases the spiritual body's movement/combat speed. In Bleach, Reiatsu is very important; someone who has 50 reiatsu with great ability will never beat someone with 70 reiatsu is mediocre ability.

2023-05-03 17:15:55 +0000 UTCIt's not actually mixed canon/filler. It's just stretching the manga content out longer. This happened in Naruto as well, with moments like characters charging, or stare-downs between rivals taking WAY too long so they can stretch the episode out. Mixed canon/filler often times ISN'T stretched out, because there's no need to elongate the moments that are there when you have other moments of made up nonsense that you can pad the time with. For example, Naruto's rage slowly taking over while Orochimaru taunts him, then commercial break, then that EXACT same scene of rage and taunting played over again; that's not filler. That's just what happened in the manga being stretched to ridiculous lengths. Whereas the episode beginning with the ninja ostrich and armadillo dick, and ending with the serious confrontation between Kabuto and "Madara"; nothing there was really stretched out. It was rather fast-paced in fact...while mixing canon with filler.

2023-05-03 17:09:28 +0000 UTCI know you guys were tossing around the idea of going back and rewatching in sub in the Sunday Rundown on your own(would watch the reactions though) but I would very much recommend it because early Bleach can be rough in dub, as was the case for a lot of anime during this time period. I don’t watch dubs anymore but I’m happy for people that consume it that localization has improved so much in present day. Also highly recommend the manga, Tite Kubo’s art is incredible
