Even when this first aired and I was closer to the characters in age, the moment Parker started being all feel sad for me, I knew he was not a great guy. Poor Buffy getting another unhappy experience. And yes, the Angel / Buffy relationship was problematic and unhealthy in many ways, but Angel did always truly love her, so it’s sad that her first attempt to move on with a guy is with someone so horrid. Pat, saying he doesn’t see what he did wrong was rather worrying too. Leading women on to get them to sleep with you and then acting like you’d made clear it was casual when you didn’t, is not okay. Weird that that needs to be explained really. As for Angel, it’s still one of my favourite eps for how it adds more depth to him as a character and how selfless he is willing to be to try and make amends for Angelus, which weren’t even his fault.

I watched it years ago, but I usually skip other reactors reacting to it, as it wasn't really my fav. But, I like that it's just the watch-along. Sad not to see Rana watch, but I see from the Angel ep. she got caught up.

Like I know that James struggled with playing Spike because of how villainous he is but he is just so damn charismatic that he really elevates the shows Buffy and Angel, when he appears, and his chemistry with almost every actor is just so great, I still can’t get over how much I liked seeing him and Willow interact in 3x08, lol, and let’s not forget him and Buffy’s mom. He’s really great at playing dangerous but also he doesn’t have to be taken too seriously because he can also be funny and kind of a doofus as well, the perfect balance all within one character!!!

The writers made it look like Oz and Cordelia has crossed paths with Spike before, when in reality, they've never had a single scene with him. Seriously. Rewatch any Spike episodes, they never meet each other.

She did exactly what you wanted. Innocent until proven guilty and all that jazz. What you really meant is that it is acceptable to judge people harshly as long as it isn't Angel. You validated Pajander for judging Parker very harshly w/o any evidence but dislike people judging Angel at all. Seems like your bias has overtaken any reasoning from transpiring. You call people toxic over a TV show. That is judging people very harshly. What did you say would happen when you judge people harshly? End up getting crushed. We can use one word to summarize your comment. Hypocrisy.

Womanizing and manipulative characters are so often portrayed in a positive light on TV, so to show it from Buffy's perspective was refreshing and cathartic in a strange way.

2023-04-13 18:11:23 +0000 UTCto answer Chris question thats not Grodd thats Mallah most notable appearance as part of the main villains for the Teen Titans tv show in the second to last season. The same for the brain. There are about 3-4 notable sentient gorillas in DC being Grodd, Humanite, Mallah, and Grodds nephew. Maybe Beat Boy if you count him as well.
