Weekly post 3!

Here we are again!

-----------------------

This week I started playing Persona 5 Royal. I got about halfway through, and honestly, the game didn’t grab me at all—I ended up dropping it because it felt too tedious and didn’t hold my interest.

( ;∀;)

I had played Persona 4 before, and that wasn’t the case with that game. Unlike Persona 5, I never felt it was too heavy or that I lost interest, even though the dungeons in Persona 4 are basically hallways throughout the entire game.

υ。’ ᵔ ‘。υ

I’m not sure if something changed between these two games, but I get the feeling that Atlus’s writing turn very… simplistic? I don’t know if that’s the right word—it’s not necessarily that it’s simple, but it doesn’t generate much interest for me and can even be annoying at times.

(・・;)ゞ

For example, in Futaba’s dungeon, there was a giant button next to a door. There was dialogue saying, “Oh, look, a button! Surely this button will open that door.” Then, you press it, and you literally see the door open, followed by another character saying, “Wow, it looks like the door opened. We should go right away.” And it’s like, yeah, I know the door opened—I literally just saw it open.

(눈_눈)

Anyway, I don’t plan to abandon it completely—I’ll pick it back up at some point from where I left off.

On another note, I also tried playing Metaphor: ReFantazio, and it didn’t click with me either, which made me feel bad because everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, and I thought I was just being bitter or something.

(´-ε-`)

But again, it’s the same issue with the writing. Metaphor is full of plot conveniences and other problems. For example, despite being a new IP, it doesn’t separate itself at all from the mechanics of the Persona games—to the point where it could easily be a reskin of a Persona game.

(ಠ╭╮ಠ)

I overlooked a lot of plot conveniences (spoiler!), like how Louis is portrayed as extremely intelligent and calculating, but he’s saved most of the time by sheer luck, such as when he’s about to be killed and the king’s magic saves him out of nowhere. (How lucky)

I ended up dropping the game completely when they reached some Mayan-style ruins, and deep in the background were the ruins of Tokyo. As if, somehow, those ruins connected to the sky of the real world or something like that. That honestly annoyed me a lot—I found it ridiculous and unnecessary.

(⎻▵ ⎻)

There was no reason to do something like that, as it completely broke my immersion and wasn’t needed to explain the origin of humans. I feel like there were a thousand more interesting ways to explain it than having the protagonists, who are extremely medieval, walk through a Tokyo building and say things like, “Oh, look, this ‘DVD’ must be some strange device,” and so on…

(´・з・)

I think what made me quit was that the first few hours were extremely good—from the moment you enter the castle attacked by a human, the first cinematic gave me some really strong Berserk vibes. But in the end, the game turned out to be pretty generic.

╥﹏╥

I hope I don’t sound too harsh.

Anyway, I still wanted to mention that it’s a good game. Not as good as the Persona games, but I’d say it’s a solid 7 if you enjoy Persona mechanics. I’m a big fan of RPGs and JRPGs for their stories, and that’s what I pay the most attention to, setting everything else aside. That’s why, in my case, it fell pretty flat.

Anyway, changing the topic...

-----------------------

I was pretty busy during the week, so I didn’t have much time to draw. I finally finished half of my drawing, but I’m still deciding what to do with the remaining part. In my previous post, I mentioned working on a drawing of a Futa character or a Femboy.

(.❛ ᴗ ❛.)

In the end, I decided to draw a character from AgentRedGirl. It didn’t turn out very similar, to be honest.

(; ̄︶ ̄)

But well, at least I tried. Here’s the WIP!

(・ε・`)
I had planned for the second drawing to be a press mating, but it didn’t turn out very well—I mean, it was decent, but not what I wanted.

‧⁺✧(˶´⚰︎`˵)⁺‧

Press mating looks better with non-futa girls, in my opinion, so I scrapped the sketch I made today. Tomorrow, I’ll try doing something like a doggy-style position or something similar. I hope it turns out more attractive that way, though I’m not sure if that’s the right word.

(˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵)

Anyway, that’s as far as I got this week, at least when it comes to drawing.

Thank you for reading! See you next week in the next blog!
