Slime Folk (5e) Remaster

Edit: Since a good amount of people are still using 5e 2014 rules I went back to also update the original Slime Folks to the new standard, including rebalancing, skill proficiencies, and the new cubie subrace! You can find the new 5.5e update here if you are looking for the modern version.

After some reworking and tweaking, I present you the full Slime Folk player character race! Have fun with these...and maybe check with your fellow players and DM before using these rules. ;D

I figured the Mnemonic Slimefolk would somewhat qualify as that.

Question every think about a psoinic slime?

Jacob Harden

It is implied that they would slowly digest any organic matter that remains within their bodies within time. So the "acid damage" is there, but it's so slow that it does not justify damage per round. The feral slime girl though does deal damage through engulfing someone because of their voracious nature =)

Tuz-oh

Purely from a fluff and thematic perspective, do you see the acid as only being on the surface of their skin then? Just trying to think how it would work if they're made of a single slime (amorphous) and their Pseudopod ability deals acid damage, why does everything they touch melt and why doesn't the engulf do damage? I think this is an awesome race and am looking forward to playing it. I'd love your thoughts on this.

No, engulf is not meant to deal damage. It is merely meant to entrap a creature. A Feral Slime Folk can digest it an engulfed creature though. But it you see it as a good fit you can go ahead and implement this change in your own game. I approve other people making changes to my own material to fit their needs :)

Question about the Digestion ability in the Feral subrace. It seems like an engulfed creature, regardless of your subrace should take 1D6 acide damage per turn since the Pseudopod ability is 1D6 + strength acid damage. If that were the case, then the Feral subrace could get 1D6 + Strength or Constitution acid damage when engulfed.
