💗 Patreon has positively changed the way I create, thank you! ❤️‍🔥

It's been about 3 months since I relaunched my Patreon and I have nothing but good things to say about it! I want to dedicate this post to you all to say a big thank you for joining and supporting me here, because it has actually transformed my creative practice. THANK YOU! YES, YOU! /throws confetti and brings out a giant party pizza/

I took a break from Patreon back in 2020 for health (physical and mental) reasons. Many life events elapsed since that time that made me scared to return here, a swirl of 'what ifs' trailing closely behind each attempt to come back. I also had so many questions about art, creativity, schedule, and freedom that I tried working out in real time (when is life ever not real time lol) in a variety of ways that never quite generated enough momentum. It felt like continuously finding myself back at square one and referencing the past when it seemed like I knew what I was doing (hindsight is 20/20...).

Being back on Patreon has forced me to contend with unrealistic and damaging perfectionist tendencies rather than just paying it lip service (I have so much to say on this topic, another post for another day). I was deeply concerned that the schedule of Patreon would feel limiting, but it turns out that limits were exactly what I needed. It actually reminds me of the Stallion Theory that I learned from this video and Parkinson's Law. What I most feared, prompts/deadlines/discipline, is actually what ended up helping me out the most. Ironically, I have more ideas and more importantly, a reason, to execute them now that I have less "creative freedom" (its own wild beast of a concept).

I don't think I'll ever be able to fully express the extent and depth of my gratitude, so just know all this matters so much to me. I'm so touched that people stayed subscribed during my hiatus even though there was no promise of me returning. I'm grateful that Patreon helps me provide a framework to show up regularly and I'm even more grateful that I have you all to share that experience with. Thank you so much for your support, I do not take it for granted. It fills me with purpose to provide something fun and valuable for you. I've truly enjoyed it so far and I hope you have, too! I'm so excited to keep making things, sharing them, and chatting together! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart, I couldn't do any of this without you. ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
