At first I wasn't very excited about the idea of working on the car scene, mainly because the only time I did one was the very first pages with Joris and his crew, and it seemed like so much work to place everyone correctly, etc... (but I was young). But in the end, I really loved it! Night times are def moments I like to draw the most, it naturaly brings a very good black and white balance, very contrasty pages, I love it.
However, I really wish I'd added more details.
I think I'm also really happy to reunite with Tera and the Rabbit. It's just amusing to see them bicker a bit. And then Tera, one can't tell if his mask makes him look ridiculous (as Kain insists) or if it accentuates his bad boy side haha.
Let me tell you one thing: we're not done with this mask yet.
Oh, almost forgot (not me forgetting the main point of the broken mask) that broken mask!! HOW SYMBOLIC.
Also, can we talk about Tera's body language? I don't know why, but I love the two panels where he sighs before turning his head; you can almost hear the leather of the seats creaking in the silence of the car; just seems so casual and accurate?
The whole point of this scene is to manifest a beginning of Tera's distancing from Black Death (initiated by the unanswered phone call).
P.S. Tera didn't lie, he really bought paint. And when you'll see this paint again, it will mean that we're getting to a scene probably super cute and touching between him and the Boy. I'm so excited omg!
I hope you liked these pages! Don't worry, Tera and the Boy will be back together soon! Those are my favorite moments to draw!

Hi : ) I have a little bit of hope, since Kain is already covering for Tera... Tera seems to be the brother Kain does respect and needs and their relationship goes way back. They have been in all of this together, and other than "the little brother Jo", they were there through the whole process of transforming and "morving on". I'm impressed how good Kain is at "handling" Tera. He is pushing him hard, but (from what I get) up to now, never that bit too much. Kain is smart in the way he goes about it. So, yeah... I do hope Kain won't turn on them, even though he has strong believes and is all for the lifestyle of Black Death. I doubt that includes a retirement-plan.

2024-03-20 11:59:09 +0000 UTCThe mask is the most basic mask found in stores, it's cheap and made of plastic. The golden glue might be more expensive than the mask actually. But it'll look pretty dope...if the mask wasn't made out of plastic 😔

2024-03-08 23:59:45 +0000 UTCI cried so much during the scene with grandma!! I don't know, the fear that the Boy has, of loosing someone important (yet again). There just was something that got to me. And the way she tried to console him, to reassure that she's not going anywhere (even if deep down she knows that the day is coming). And I loved how she encourages the Boy of his own adventures. How he too needs to go and seek his own dreams! <3 I chuckled a little when Tera sat in the car and exhaled! It was visible that he didn't want to be there. That little by little he wants nothing to do with Black Death. Tho I was so emotional after the grandma scene that jumping into the car scene felt weird. Hard to explain, it wasn't anything negative, I just needed a moment to calm down before continuing :D I have a hunch what's going to happen with paint and with the broken mask! Looking forward to it! Great work as always!

It's true we can really see his emotions even with the mask on, he seems so fed up with all this (by the way I like the dynamic between the rabbit and Tera 🙂). His broken mask is such a strong symbolism of what really goes inside him. Can't wait to see the boy help him fix the pieces. I'm looking forward for the upcoming super cute scene between them ! 😁 Maybe it will be a kind of therapy with paint 🤔 keep up the great work Pico !

Though really, Kain tries different approaches, which all lead to the same thing - Tera not ready to talk about it. Another thing that came to mind... a rather famous car-backseat-scene with two people in the front bickering... from the movie Pulp Fiction. If Tera's mask slips enough because of their scuffle... I really wouldn't want to be the guy in the backseat. It probably doesn't help that both of them doesn't seem to be too attached to his personality... annoying guy and all...

The way she tries to be the stronger one in order to calm down her little boy, it just hit home so badly ♡ Now, about the car scene...that tension. That tension was killing me. And I know Tera and the rabbit are the kind of friends who like to have a bit of a banter moment, but this really felt like a "I'm smiling, but I'm fucking furious" moment. I wouldn't honestly want to be the guy on the back seat lol

It's almost terrifying to think of what Tera is going to have to do to get out, if he even can. Time and time we've seen where you don't just walk away from a gang. I hope that whatever happens the boy is able to pick up those broken pieces, and of course is not injured in anyway. We all know this probably won't be the case. I love this update and can't wait to see what they are going to do with that paint. <3

She saw his desperation and anxiety last chapter and this chapter surrounding the idea of losing her (spawned by change in his environment) and despite being the one to encounter the most changes herself she handled it so gracefully. I love that woman. ♥️ please give her all the peace, Z.

Watching him makes it easy to hear and feel every move... it's lively and vivid - even when he's not actually moving. It's a pretty honest way of communication and very impressive artwork. It looks so natural, so... easy. Never missing a beat, even without facial expressions. Talking about "faces"... that mask scarred in the same place as his face did when meeting the boy in that alley... Nice "touch"! I'm also very impressed with Kain... it seems he knows exactly how far he can go without seriously annoying Tera. Kain knows his friend and brother in crime pretty well and is even having his back and covering for him, so Lucs power seems to have it's limits with those two... They have their own dynamic and I really like that scene (couldn't wait to see them again!). First I thought Tera tried to cover up his weakness (the breakdown), patching up his mask, painting over his damaged wall, maybe covering his bruised knuckles with the gloves he often wears... but it seems I got that all wrong and it's something for the boy (early christmas gift perhaps ;p ). Awesome update! PS: I hope your computer issues are already solved and you're on good terms with the 'lil monster you created ;p
